The Twist is a gallery, a bridge as well as sculpture, all in one. The 1000 square meter building twists into a sculptural form and ranges 60 meters across the Randselva river. The building was designed by the Danish star architects BIG - Bjarke Ingels Group. It is referred to as a "must-see" artistic destination by the New York Times, Bloomberg, and The Telegraph. In a rhythmic interplay of woodland nature, The Twist is a gorgeous gallery with mixed light sources and river views. From the south side of the river, visitors reach through a spectacular double-height space into the Closed Gallery, with precise sightlines through the whole building to the north entrance.

Designed by the architecture firm Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), The Twist serves as both an exhibition space and a bridge, blending art, architecture, and nature. The museum hosts contemporary art exhibitions and has quickly become a notable cultural attraction, celebrated for its innovative design and scenic setting within the...

This architecture and gallery is worth while the 1 hour trip from Oslo despite there is much more to see in terms of outdoor sculptures at Kistefos Museum. The Twist is an amazing piece of architecture that looks like a simple twisted walking tunnel over the water, but coming inside it is surprisingly voluminous and beautiful. All white with twisted panels that enhances the art and their colours. Dont forget to visit the toilets with the sculpture of a man peeking in from outside and the toilet lockers with exciting live art on the walls, all different in each locker so you have to visit the all of...
