Sørstrand Folkepark — Attraction in Kinn

Beautiful and calming with smooth waters, glistening with the long daylight of the Norwegian Summer sky.

Honestly, Asians like me, with our tropical beaches, carry layers of biases towards white powdery sands and lush greens of our own well visited coastline beaches like the white beach of Boracay Island, Coron Island and El Nido or Palawan. Perhaps, I will never label other beaches as beautiful unless it surpasses our very own famous beaches in the Philippines, but Sorstrand Folkepark made me reconsider.

A place where you do not need white powdery sands to raise the bar of seaside fun; a place where the rocks with its play of textures and colors, along with the smooth and calm seawater as graceful as a lake, evokes presence of a regal swan in its midst even if there isn't any.

Der Sørstrand Folkepark in Florø ist ein charmantes Naherholungsgebiet direkt am Meer und nur wenige Minuten vom Stadtzentrum entfernt. Der Park verfügt über breite, gut gepflegte Wege, die auch mit Kinderwagen oder Rollstuhl leicht begehbar sind. Immer wieder laden Bänke und kleine Aussichtspunkte dazu ein, den Blick über den Fjord schweifen zu lassen.

Ein kleiner Sandstrand lädt im Sommer zum Baden ein, während Grillplätze, eine Grillhütte und ein Beachvolleyballfeld für gesellige Stunden sorgen. Abseits des Hauptwegs finden Ruhesuchende stille Ecken zwischen Felsen und Wiesen, die sich ideal für ein Picknick oder zum Lesen eignen.
