An incredibly, beautiful romantic story about a wealthy and famous Danish-Norwegian family, presenting the way of life and customs prevailing in Norway in the 17th century. English version guide tour every Sunday at 4.00 pm. I recommend using a Google voice translator. On your phone screen, you will receive legible and understandable text in the language you use. Magnificient interiors, beautiful old furniture and a huge collection of old books. The house is surrounded by a lovely garden. Unfortunately, it is not allowed to take pictures inside the house (July 2024), it should be understood. It's worth seeing! I highly...

You should explain to visitors that they will not see the waterfalls as indicated in your map at the entrance. We paid 12.50 euros to see a garden. We asked at the desk about the waterfalls we wanted to see and they said that we can see them. Which was not possible since the waterfalls were 2km far and more and the best way to see a bit of the water on the ground was from the other road outside of the park which we found out very late. So very...

The barony park and garden are located in a very pretty place, facing the mountains. The place offers plenty of walks around, the rose garden is beautiful even at this season (mid-August). There is a café close to the castle with a nice terrace in the greenhouse. We took the guided tour option of the castle, the guide made the most of it but the possibilities are limited there. On the practical side, the parking is 75 kr, and the entrance with tour 210...

This was so much more than I anticipated. The size of the farm, the flowers, the food (oh! Pieces of art with the herbs flowers nuts and local berries juices), the art collection in the manor house celebrating norwegian artists, the dedicated and knowledgeable staff. The hike along the Hattebergfossen waterfall and the flocks of sheep, goats and cows. What a great visit.

What a beautiful manor. The green is so intense – tons of plants, trees and grass. I found the manor house to be inspiring – various styles of architecture using various types of building materials. The intricacies of the iron gate archway are truly fascinating. The garden and the buildings are well maintained. The manor is easily accessed from a nearby parking area.

Absolutely stunning Manor house at the base of 2 mountains. Gorgeously tended to gardens with a charming café/tea room. Our visit was brief as our time was limited so we didn't visit the Manor but we had lunch outdoors by the glass house and explored the gardens which were divine. We'd have loved to stay longer. Highly recommended.
