There are signs for parking along the "romantic road" from Skjolden to Ornes. 5 minutes walk brings you to the river rushing into the fjord, 15-20 minutes of hiking to the first overlook, and another 10+ minutes hike to get as close as possible. Over 200 meters of freefall, it's mesmerizing. There is a very nice and clean public toilet near the parking, and some benches at the overlook.

Feigefossen waterfall is the second-longest waterfall in Norway. Free falling 229 meters. There is a resting place at the foot of the waterfall, to which leads a steep trail. The waterfall is protected by state law and must not be used for the energy industry, which is a rarity in Norway. Until 1970 the upper waterfall Mardalsfossen, which was 297 m high, was the highest waterfall in Europe. It continued with the lower Mardalsfossen which has another 220 m. During the melting of snow and after heavy downpours, they seemed like a single waterfall having over 500 m length over Eikesdal. But it is the history now after building the dam was built. Only in the summertime, during the high season, water is discharged from the power plant to entertain tourists. The waterfall starts from the Feigom homestead, which lies at the mouth of the Feugedalselvi River to Sagaviki, the bay of Lustrafjord, a 40 km long branch of the inner Sognefjord at the foot of the highest mountains of northern Europe. On the northwest side of the fjord, there is the national holiday road called Sognefjellsvegen, which scratches from the sea level to Fantestein at 1440 m. Further from the waterfall, you can look to Urnes, where you can visit the oldest preserved wooden pillar church, listed on UNESCO's World Heritage List. The waterfall and the church can be reached by a small ferry that transports cars from Solvor to Urnes. However, be early there, as the ferry is really small and runs only for a few hours even in...

Absolutely breathtaking! Feigefossen is one of the most impressive waterfalls we’ve seen — powerful, dramatic, and set against the most beautiful natural backdrop. The hike to the viewing point is manageable and well worth the effort, offering amazing views along the way. We visited on a clear day and spent time just soaking it all in. A must-see if you’re in the Lustrafjord area — peaceful, majestic, and...
