Stavekirkes in Norway is a must see. Builded only from wood and decorated in amazing way. Only 28 such kind churches survided until our time, all are in Norway. One is in Poland in Karpacz city brought here from Norway in XIX centrury. But the Urnes church is the oldest one and on UNESCO World Heritage List since 1979. It is beautiful, really. Unless you want to continue with the romantic drive on the church side of the fjord, leave the car at the parking lot from where ferry leaves, it will save you money and the hustle. On the other side it’s a quite steep uphill (about 1 km). Ticket include guided tour ( because it’s a destination for the cruise hoards, there were two groups and it was quite crowded, so I did not wait for the guided tour and just listened to the bus guide). Read moreNice quiet place. You can only enter the church with the tour guide. We bought the tickets for the tour and it was worth it. Parking is limited. Most if the people walk uphill to the church. You don’t have to come in the car, you can park your car before jumping in the ferry and then walk uphill.
