Do you like spending your summer day waiting in lines? Then this is the place for you. Very crowded and lines everywhere. The lines for the largest waterslide were all the way down the stairs and across the sidewalk. The lines for the pizza restaurant were ridiculous and every other food booth was understaffed. The pizza was pretty good for park food though. Want to put your stuff in a locker? You get to wait for that too. For some reason due to people not returning keys, you cannot go in and out of the locker room freely. At least fifteen minutes wait in line each time you might want to grab your phone, sunglasses, sunscreen, medication, whatever.
If you are overweight, be aware that the signs warn you if you appear even close to the weight limit of any of the slides, you will be weighed in front of everyone before you're allowed to go on. This can be traumatic for many people for a variety of reasons and should be mentioned VERY clearly on the website but is not. Most of the slides have a 100kg-130kg max weight limit. Don't worry though, because you will lose at least five kilos walking up and down the steep hills trying to find the stupid signs with requirements that are posted somewhere around each slide but difficult to find. I understand this is for safety, but if there will be a ridiculous amount of safety rules, at least make them easy to find in the frustrating terrain.
Some areas of the park look rundown, old, and dirty, especially the bathroom doors by the wave river which have so much dust/grime on them that people have begun to draw in it.
It is hard to find a map anywhere so you spend a lot of time walking up hills, looking for things (including stupid signs).
There are no floaty tubes sold for adults. The largest sold are for max 65kg with a very small inner ring.
The pool water was a nice temperature, which is good as the air is very cold if the sun is not shining. The best part of the park is definitely the wave river, which is fun enough to spend an hour in or more. Nevertheless I probably wouldn't return unless they at least staff areas with long lines more and bring back the train to take people around...
Read moreThe park was way bigger than I expected and the queues were not too long. There are a lot of different slides of different intensity. There were not so many people on the extreme ones because it was mainly families there with younger kids.
The rides are very well supervised and they are strict with height, weight and age requirements to go on each ride, which I felt is good for safety.
The age limit for kids to go in the park alone is 14! I felt that is too high… should be 12. But maybe if it’s a group of 12 year olds, they could cause trouble. I have a big 12 year old and a 16 year old but I still had to go in the park with them. In the end, it was ok… they enjoyed the extreme rides and I enjoyed the many places to sunbathe and paddle in the water.
The location of the park is fantastic! You really feel it must be a mistake when you see google maps telling you that it’s 2 minutes away…. You are just on this road to nowhere with only forest around, then suddenly… there it is! I have never been to that area before…. The scenery is incredible during the drive- some huge pointy mountains around there! So typical of Norway to build a massive theme park literally in the middle of nowhere with nothing else around…. Keep it for Norwegians and keep the tourists away, lol. That’s fine by me… even though I’m not Norwegian, we were glad to take the trip into the wilderness and glad there were not so many hundreds of others there! Highly recommend...
Read moreVisited on the 8th July with my family. 2 adults 2 kids. Many of the attractions were closed. The slides that were open were pretty good but there was no discount even although many were closed..
Have. Look at the hazard at the entrance to the park.😬
The toilets had ran out of hand paper and when the staff were told they replied "thats the way it is"🤷🏻♂️. My son cut(minor) his finger on one of the objects in the swimming pool. The Red Cross people were very good and professional.
We ordered chicken nuggets and chips from "burgeren" The chicken nuggets were awful🤮 and the chips were stone cold. I returned the chips and after 5 mins the gave me new one. ALSO COLD.!!!!. Eventually the gave me new ones but even although they were hot this time, they were not very good.. .
My recommendation is to bring you own food and enjoy .
Before we left i showered in the showers at the pool. The water was just warmer than cold.🥶
It rained a lot of heavy showers when we were there. On the company's website they advertise a "rain guarantee " We asked about the rain guarantee when we were leaving and the girl at the info desk made her excuses and basically there's no rain guarantee. .
Why does the park close at 6pm every night when the best part of the day in Norway is between 4pm-8pm.This doesn't make sense.
I can't recommend a...
