We decided to embark on our adventure to the cool spot this past Sunday, and I must say, it truly exceeded my expectations in terms of foot traffic—there were definitely more people than I had anticipated. As we approached the alpine ski and snowboard rental area, it was clear that the atmosphere was lively, and a bit chaotic, with families bustling about, equipment being fitted, and the sound of excited chatter filling the air. Instead of joining the masses, we opted for a different experience by choosing to rent Nordic skis.
This decision led us to a hidden gem—a peaceful section of the area that was remarkably tranquil and had hardly anyone around. With every step we took into the Nordic skiing trails, we were enveloped in an enchanting winter wonderland. The snow was groomed to perfection, creating a smooth and inviting surface that beckoned us to glide effortlessly over it.
As we skied, the stunning views unfolded around us, with snow-covered trees standing tall against a brilliant blue sky and the sun casting a warm glow over the landscape. The serenity of the low-traffic trails allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the beauty of nature. Unlike the excitement of the alpine skiers racing down the slopes, our experience was filled with a calming peace. We enjoyed the soft sounds of nature and the rhythmic swish of our skis gliding over the snow, making for an unforgettable day. The contrast between our serene adventure and the excitement of others added to the richness of our experience, allowing us to create lasting memories in a truly...
Read moreThe place is easily and cheaply accessible with Oslo underground, the slopes are green, blue, red and black. As a beginner I stayed on the green and blue which weirdly I found easier then the green. Unfortunately all three days I was there, although is wasn’t busy and during week days, there were no instructors available for a lesson of 50 minutes. I felt that my skiis were not the right ones for my height and weight (even a few skii maestros pointed it out), definitely too heavy, but when I asked at the rental store they told me those were the smallest skiis they had available. Some things that I thought were included like the helmet are not, so the price was a little higher then what I expected to pay.
There’s a nice coffee with a beautiful view where to rest and enjoy a warm cup of tea.
Overall I wish the website was less verbose so it would’ve been easier to understand for a beginner how to book in advance for a private lesson etc, there’s an app but is pretty pointless since you book the tourist pass on the day you are there. I felt at times the communication in english with the staff was not fluent, I also wished the receipt was printed in english as well not only in Norwegian, which I don’t believe is a crazy entitled demand since there’s many...
Read moreMe and a friend booked a 50 minute beginner snowboard lesson with the school here as we had never snowboarded before. We arrived 20 minutes early to our lesson which was 12-12:50. we went to the desk and not one person behind the counter acknowledged we was there. We were here for 10 minutes before I went and got someone’s attention and they told me I would have to wait at the desk and didn’t want to help us. At 12 our teacher arrived and asked us is we had any equipment, to which we didn’t which was obvious for 2 reasons- you could see we had no equipment and we booked a BEGINNER lesson. So we then had to spend 15 minutes getting kitted up (which is extra money by the way) before we were ready to start our lesson. By the time we got out on the snow it was gone 12:15. Luckily the instructor (who was lovely) must of noticed how unhelpful the staff behind the desk were and didn’t finish our lesson until 1pm instead to make up the time that was lost by terrible customer service, which we were grateful for. The actual lesson was great fun and we enjoyed...
