It was first recorded under the name Jørgensrud in 1578, when owned by the Diocese of Oslo.

A beautiful historic landmark in the Oslo region. Here you can see the tufts of what was once a farm in medieval times. It was rebuilt as a summer residence, before later being used as a Café and restaurant, before it tragically burned down, and restrictions in the area prevented it from being rebuilt. The foundations still stand today, and give you an impression of the fantastic views you might have had back when you could stop here for a meal on your trek...

The way around the lake is a bit boring as you cant see too much of it and not much shade in summer.

But that is a nice place. Understandable they built houses there...
