Tønsberg Tønne — Attraction in Sandefjord

Pretty simpatico:-) Good place for going on short tours in summer, eventually autumn and spring. Long walk through the beautiful forest with wooden paths all along the sea. At the end you have a nice (though insignificant) climbing to the small, small tower (3-4 meters high:-) barrel shaped, that's where it's name comes from. Tønne means barrel, and Tønsberg is small town nearby. Stor parkeringsplass for friområdet (gratis) og flott turvei gjennom skogen via 2 fine badestrender, Nordre Trubevika og Strandvika. Fra skiltet som angir «Tønsberg Tønne 0,1 km» var det bratt og ulendt. Når man kommer opp «steinkløften», ta da til høyre opp i åsen for å nå Tønsberg Tønne. Vi gikk først rett fram i stedet og klatret opp svabergene på baksiden av åsen til det ikke gikk lenger (det så ut som en sti) - og måtte snu. Vel oppe var det fin utsikt, men små områder rundt «Tønna» med stup rett ned, så ikke noe for barn å svinse...
