My husband and I travel full time in our self-converted sprinter van. We've been to 13 countries so far, and our day out with Senja Husky Adventure was by far and away our most enjoyable experience!! We chose this location over others because it's a family run business and they have actual Siberian Huskies where as other locations did not have huskies and were only interested in payment from tourists. Senja Husky Adventure proved to be better than we could have imagined. We arrived about 20 minutes early - something you should plan to do in case you hit traffic/get lost (it's important to pay attention to, and factor in the weather, too) - and we were immediately welcomed warmly by Jonny and the amazing huskies!! The dogs are so friendly and affectionate.
We went into a small building where we put on large snowsuits, wool socks, boots and thick mittens. Dress appropriately though underneath - good base layers, thick socks, scarf/snood, hat, etc. Sunglasses are also a good idea to have on hand. All of the snowsuits have a breast pocket zipper so it's a great place for your phone. If you're the passenger, it's easy to take photos and videos as you go. When you're the musher, it can be a little counterintuitive at first but it's easy to pick up and get going. If you're turning right, your weight goes to your left leg, then the opposite to turn left. Don't worry if you fall off while mushing (I fell twice! No biggie!) You'll land on lovely soft snow. Just be sure to call to your passenger that you've fallen off so they can throw the "emergency brake." Jonny was super patient with everyone who fell. We were lucky that I only fell twice and my husband never fell, but the other couples we were with struggled a bit more. It may have slowed us a bit, waiting for the others to get going again, but it gave us an opportunity to take in the gorgeous views!
We took amazing photos and videos, this was just absolutely the best day! We cannot recommend this experience enough! These dogs are amazing, and very well looked after. Their owners definitely love them very much. Senja is also a gorgeous island to explore so it's well worth the trip. If we ever return to Norway, and I sure hope we do, we are definitely...

From the moment I arrived, the team at Senja Husky Adventure made me feel right at home. Their passion for the huskies and the serenity of the Norwegian landscape was infectious. The huskies were not only friendly and well-cared for but also incredibly enthusiastic about leading us through the pristine snow-covered trails.
The daytime tour offered stunning vistas of Senja's rugged beauty, with majestic mountains and serene fjords providing a breathtaking backdrop. As we glided effortlessly across the snow, the crisp air invigorated our senses, making us feel truly alive and connected with the natural world.
The nighttime experience was nothing short of enchanting. As the Northern Lights danced overhead, I felt as though I had stepped into a dream. The tranquility of the night, punctuated by the gentle sound of the sled on snow, was a moment of pure wonder and reflection.

Read moreIn short: If you are deciding between Senja Husky Adventure and Tromsø Villmarkssenter, definitely go for the Villmarkssenter! Having experienced both, I can say that the Villmarkssenter is an unforgettable experience with super nice staff, delicious lunch in a special atmosphere - definitely worth paying just a bit more as compared to Senja Husky.
My husband and I paid more than 300 euros for Senja Husky Adventure, but due to extreme weather conditions with heavy snow on the way, we arrived precisely with a 15 minute delay. While driving we have informed the man in charge that we might be slightly late and yet, upon our arrival, although he was still at the premises with all his dogs, he simply did not take us on board... Not only we have lost a lot of money, but we were also very disappointed with his attitude, given that we drove to the middle of nowhere at a high speed through the snow only to find out that he will refuse us right upon our arrival and will carelessly drive away with his dogs...
On the other hand, we had an excellent experience at the Villmarkssenter, which is a much nicer facility, well located and easily accessible, with a very cosy lunch tent and very kind staff! They run on more flexible schedules and will not refuse you due to a slight delay caused by unpredictable weather conditions in winter.
Do not get allured by saving a few euros and choose a more flexible and friendly provider such as...
