The site, with a view of the Oksen mountain range, is situated at the tip of a promontory between Steinfjord and Ersfjord. There is a public toilet at the parking lot. At the end of October the place was still very busy during the day. At night was less busy but still more like other places. The spot is good for watching the Northern Lights. There is no artificial light and the view to the north is unobstructed. While it was very windy in other places, I felt it was better here. Presumably the mountains in the west shield stormy winds from the Atlantic. The rocks were covered with a thick layer of ice at the end of October. In order not to hurt yourself, you should bring shoes with spikes in winter. While it was often cloudy further south on Senja, I was lucky here several nights and at least the northern...

Tungesnet was an incredible spot that completely exceeded my expectations! The natural beauty of the area is breathtaking, with stunning views that make the hike absolutely worth it. The trail itself is well-marked and offers a great mix of challenging and easier sections, so you get a real sense of adventure without it being too overwhelming. Once you reach the top, the panoramic views are just magical—it feels like you’re standing on the edge of the world! I also appreciated how peaceful it was; even with other hikers around, it still felt serene. If you’re a nature lover or just looking for a memorable outdoor experience, Tungesnet is a must-visit. I’ll...

It's an absolutely stunning roadside stop for photographers, with varying composition opportunities for days. Different weather conditions and time of day, including nights for Aurora, present wall hanger level shots.

Two things to keep in mind when visiting. First, the waves here have murderous intent. You MUST watch out for the waves! Protect yourself and your gear! Wear a shell. Second, be prepared for buses of tourists and other photographers to be in or step into your carefully planned...

Tungeneset is a scenic viewpoint on the island of Senja, known for its wooden walkway that leads across smooth coastal rocks to a panoramic view of the iconic Okshornan peaks — often called the "Devil’s Teeth" for their sharp, jagged shape. Note: During our visit (17th June 2025), part of the wooden walkway is under maintenance, so access requires walking over rocks. Suitable footwear and extra caution are recommended.
