Our family room bore an uncanny resemblance to what I imagine an average Norwegian prison cell would be like. The ambiance was a blend of bleak and blah, missing only the charming clink of iron bars. ||You'd expect an oven, but nope, just a boilerplate and a microwave that could probably double as a science project. Dining? Imagine a bar stool awkwardly huddled with a tiny table under the TV, as if hiding from the cold.|And oh, the cold! Entering the apartment felt like stepping into a freezer. The panel oven was more of a decorative piece, leisurely taking its sweet time to heat up. There was a contraption that looked suspiciously like a heating pump, but all it blew was disappointment and cold air.||Dreaming of a warm meal? Keep dreaming. The restaurant was closed on this particular Tuesday, leaving our stomachs as empty as the promises of warmth. Our neighbors, a lively bunch of party animals, seemed to have teleportation abilities, their raucous laughter sounding like it was right inside our room.||But let's not forget the positives! We had the misfortune of awful weather, so the ski lifts were a no-go. Hold on, that's not a positive. Well, not the fault of Sirdal Skisenter, at least. Bright side: we received prompt responses and a gift certificate for our unused passes (cash refunds are apparently mythical creatures here). The staff were amiable enough, serving smiles that almost made up for the lack of...

This is the place with the chairlift, easy the best skiing facilities in Sirdal. If the snow conditions are good, you can ski from Tjørhom to Ålsheia going via Nystøl. If you are travelling with kids, drive left where the road splits and park at Hulderheimen. If you are travelling with more experienced skiiers, drive right and park your car next to the chairlift. You can buy tickets both places, but also online, wich is cheaper. Hulderheimen has a small, flat, free novice/learner hill, a bar and restaurant, rooms/flats for rent, climbing park and more. The parking by the chairlift has a ticket office and a pizzeria with various other fastfoods. If you need to rent skiis, the ski rental is in Hulderheimen. Depending on the snow conditions the hills are suitable for most skiiers. The resort is also open in the summer, offering climbing, mountain carting,...

1.5h from Stavanger, small resort with all needed infrustructure (restaurant, toilets, apartments veey close to the lifts). Resort has plenty green/blue trails - good for relaxing skiing with kids and for beginners. But also red and 1 black. Check on their facebook which lifts are open, due to weather conditions it might differ everyday. Also watch if roads are open on vegvese.no - google doesn't show if some of those closed due to weather. In apartments - kitchen has basic appliances (kettle, toaster, coffe maker, electric stove, pot, pan, forks, spoons, etc.). No hair dryer. And only soap in the bathroom available. No kids-corner and kids room. Nice staff around everywhere, very helpful.

Short drive from Stavenger and close to the Pulpit Rock too. Good day trip for the hike. Beautiful center which is famous for skiing during winter time. However, magnificent landscapes during autumn too with all the forest turns into yellow, orange, dark red colour. Small center but having shops, petrol station nearby. Good apartment with all facility that you need. Photos of the place were taken after our stay before leaving.

We arrived here for Christmas and they decided to close everything because of the wind, and we where promise lift open after 12 and nothing, the weather got good and clear sky and the staff just sitting and watching, very disappointed. I can imagine that the big lift cant be open but the one for beginners its 100m long, all the way down, no wind and clear sky
