The walk over has an absolutely amazing view the whole way but some noise from the industrial works across the fjord the first half of the hike. There is a path from the bottom parking, but its seriously steep with a long fall down. Drive up to the viewing point above and walk from there instead. The markings on the pathway we're difficult to see in some areas so we took a few wrong turns here and there, but in total the walk took us about 2.5 hours. The views throughout and the stone at the end are definitely worth the hike! I recommend the walk for adults only.

Park your car on jøssingfjord utsikt, walk 15-20 steps up on the road. U see a board as a starting point. Follow strictly the red blue color. Wear compulsorily hiking shoes. Wear gloves as it’s so rocky to hold and climb up. Make sure it’s a dry cloudy day. It’s windy so be careful. No loose items. U need both ur hands free to climb up. Worth view.

Really lovely hike! We are fairly fit, but it def wore us out. Followed the tips here to park at the upper jossingfjord viewpoint lot (not the one by helleren) and follow the signs from there. The colored markers along the way were super helpful as well. Both the trail there AND the destination were gorgeous.

The hike starts at the parking lot with a view to Jøssingfjord. There is a sign and the path is marked with red tags. We did manage to get a bit lost after about 1 km but after doing some backtracking, we found the red markers again (painted on trees and rocks) and got back on the trail. The hike itself is not very hard – it is about 2 km to Kolbolten and it is quite flat to start with but as you approach the rock, you walk down from 210 meters to 65 meters. This means that the return starts with a long uphill of course. The rock itself (Kolbolten) is easy to reach out to and stand on to get a nice photo but it is not spectacular like e.g. Kjeragbolten. All in all, a hike with nice views along the way and it only takes about 1 hour each way if you walk in a normal pace (and stick...
