We visited whilst on a cruise that stopped in Stavanger. The staff we were very helpful and friendly and all of them spoke excellent English. The farm is very small with only three buildings, but you learn quite a bit about how the vikings lived, and there are lots of hands on things to do which entertained the adults and the children in our group, such as archery, sword fighting, making a fire with flint or stamping your own jewellery. The entrance fee is also very reasonable. The only reason I've given it 4 stars, rather than 5, is because it is small and we were only there for just over an hour.

Iron Age Farm is an open air museum, where a farm made of three long houses dating back to 350 - 550 AD have been reconstructed on their original site. There are short guided tours available without reservation, led by women in traditional dresses. The ticket costs 100 NOK (about 9€) and allows to get discounts in other museums of Stavanger. Overall there's not much to see but it could be worth a visit, given also the cheap price.

I didn't expect much, it was part of a "best of Stavanger" tour. But it was absolut stunning and the tourguide was very good. I could highly recommend and it was sad, that we had to leave after 40 minutes because of our bus arriving. You could easily spend 2 hours there. You should book a tour because they can explain a lot about ancient living there. We will revisit for sure and with more time to spend there.
