Location: trail starts from the parking lot at Lysefjord Hyft and a 50NOK fee must be paid at reception (by card, cash, applepay). Description: it's 4km loop from the parking lot - 1.5km to the top (very steep) and 2.5km to go down (via a different route). Hiking shoes highly recommended, especially if it has rained the night before. The trail was a mix of wet rocks, earth roots, mud. The view upthere is great, you get a 360° panorama over the Lysefjord and the surroundings. Do take a warm jacket as there was lots of wind. Difficulty: medium to high. Medium for steepness but high due to the trail conditions which required constant focus on the way up and down. It had poured rain the night before so it required focus to avoid muddy areas in some areas. Time: it took us 1.5h hiking time + 15min upthere for pictures and rest. Opinion: we read some comments saying that it was much better than Preikestolen. While there was literally no one up or down the trail when we hiked (8am on a Monday in August) and the 360° panorama was fantastic, we found Preikestolen' views at the top more breathtaking and spectacular + the hike was less technical and we spent less time looking down our feet to make sure we wouldn't slip. If you have time, do both as they're enjoyable and offer great yet varying views...

It's a moderate hike, definitely doable if you're used to hiking but a challenge if you're not!

Most of the climbing is done on a relatively short stretch of the hike which can make it quite intense. The way down is a bit less steep but can be slippery.

Views during the hike are already nice, and then you reach the top and are treated to an almost 360 degree view of fjords and little islands.

I definitely recommend doing this hike! Best part is there's almost nobody there since they're all doing...

If you want to avoid the crowds and the influencers and still get magnificent views this is the place. We took just over an hour to climb from the small car park (50 nkr to park) and followed the route marked red. The views were astounding... Some of the best we have ever seen. We saw six people on this walk.... Compare that to the craziness at the main sights. A tricky walk back over rocky terrain. You'll need walking shoes or boots, water, clothing layers and a good camera. I really...

Absolutely fantastic, picturesque, one of the best hikes of my life, even though the mountain itself is small. The hike starts at parking at Lysefjord Hyttegrend. Parking is paid. It requires about 1 hours of walking to the top and the terain is very good. We were lucky and it was dry. Once at the top, you will be rewarded by 360° view and you can see Stavanger and about 50% of Lysefjorden. We had amazing weather and we were completely alone at the top! Very strong experience.
