The one of the most beautiful valley in Norway, i highly recommend to visit, even if you go only from parking to the small wooden houses called “Hytte” is worth it. There you can enjoy the coffee with something sweet with amazing view of the mountains and a lake with animals like cows, goats and sheep’s around. You will also see the waterfall, so it us a full complex of Norwegian landscape. There is so cozy that you don’t want to leave. You can book accommodation bed and breakfast there and take the best hike to the top of this sharp mountain there. We was going only for one afternoon trip and 4 km walk from parking was not so bad so we hiked til the top of waterfall, is marked and easy to find but really steep and you need to be strong shape. :) we will come back for the top one day is 10 km trip only from Hyttes down, with walk to the parking is almost 30 km all in all round trip 😁challenging...

HEADS UP: You cannot drive into this valley and must park on the outskirts and walk in. Google Nav will tell you its possible but its not. Its 3.5km to walk in. Review: I've travelled Norway quite a bit now and this is such an incredibly beautiful area. It's a sustainable farm valley with pig, sheep, cows, goats. It's got lots of accommodation to stay at with DNT huts etc. The waffle stop is amazing and the camping spots are brilliant. The streams are gorgeous and the water is fresh to drink but I did boil mine due to pastures nearby. The hiking is so stunning. Its world class but often challenging with trails rated to expert at times. Good for trail running or riding or hiking...

This is a beautiful valley with a lake and amazing mountains that were still full of snow when we visited in June. We parked at the Nerdal car park which is signposted on the A70. If you are fit and healthy this is an easy walk but be warned it is an uphill climb for half of the way. It then slopes down to the lake and a small cafe from which you get the best view of the peaks. I struggled to get the top and decided not to continue as I couldn't face the walk back up but I am in my late sixties so don't be put off. We got a good view of the lake from there so happy we made it to the top. The cafe usually opens the last week in June so take...
