I unfortunately couldn't do the full hike due to the road to Dalen being closed off, I had hiked 2 hours to even get to the starting point (also a beautiful route). The other option was to drive about 40 minutes around the mountain and then drive to the Lårdalstigen parkering, which I didn't want to do. I made it to the viewpoint and it is certainly a very magnificent location with spectacular views, would love to come back and complete the full route next time!

7 hour hike with stops, amazing view but it’s pretty intense. Not for beginners. There’s a waterfall by the beginning and the end, so bring enough water! After the cabin (around 5 hours) that’s where it gets very steep. Save some energy for the last two hours.

Awesome but demanding hike. Take into consideration that the hike itself is 14 km plus if you start in Lårdal arriving there by ferry it is about 2 km to the start of the trail and in Dalen it is 5 km from the end of the trail to the town.

Well marked path, easy to find. The second part is not as nice as the first one, because there is a very steep and a bit dangerous down and uphill. The first part offers way more view points and varied nature, so I recommend to start from Dalen and return...
