Unforgettable Adventure at Tromø Wilderness Centre: Dog Sledging Delight I recently had the incredible opportunity to experience dog sledging at Tromø Wilderness Centre, and it truly exceeded all expectations. From start to finish, every moment was filled with excitement, wonder, and pure joy. The staff at Tromø Wilderness Centre were not only incredibly helpful but also extremely informative. They guided us through every step of the experience, ensuring our safety while also sharing their vast knowledge of the wilderness and the magnificent dogs that would be our companions on this adventure. Speaking of the dogs, they were the true stars of the show. Friendly, energetic, and bursting with enthusiasm, they made the entire experience unforgettable. Interacting with these amazing animals was an absolute highlight, and it was evident that they were well cared for and loved by everyone at the centre. The sledging experience itself was nothing short of fantastic. Gliding through the pristine wilderness, surrounded by stunning landscapes and the serene beauty of Tromø, was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The rush of the cold wind against my face, the sound of the sledge slicing through the snow, and the sight of the dogs eagerly pulling us along will stay with me forever. However, it's important to note that dog sledging is not for the faint of heart. The weather conditions can be challenging, with wet snow and cold temperatures adding to the adventure. But for those willing to brave the elements, the rewards are beyond measure. In addition to the exhilarating sledging adventure, one of the most memorable moments was warming up by the crackling fire and indulging in some fantastic reindeer soup. After a day filled with excitement and adrenaline, there's nothing quite like cosying up by the fire with a hearty, delicious meal. The rich flavours of the reindeer soup combined with the comforting ambience of the wilderness centre created the perfect ending to an already unforgettable experience. It's these little touches that truly make Tromø Wilderness Centre a standout destination for anyone seeking an extraordinary adventure in the heart of nature. In conclusion, my time at Tromø Wilderness Centre was truly unforgettable. From the incredible staff to the amazing dogs and the exhilarating sledging experience, every aspect exceeded my wildest dreams. If you're looking for an adventure that will stay with you for a lifetime, look no further than Tromø Wilderness Centre.

Best Husky Sled Ride in Tromsø! I loved my experience with Tromsø Villmarksenter from start to finish! The mushers were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. For this tour we booked the Husky Sled Ride that was driven by a musher. Why I Loved Tromsø Villmarksenter You’re not rushed! After your dog sled trip you have plenty of time to visit and play with the other dogs! You have visits to the younger puppies and the race dogs. I loved having plenty of time after my trip to take pictures of the dogs and spend time with them The sled ride was the perfect amount of time! I went on a husky sled tour in Finland that was around 10 minutes, but at Tromsø Villmarksenter our tour was around 45-60 minutes! It was the perfect amount of time. Your tour includes a delicious reindeer stew, hot drinks, and the most amazing chocolate cake! At Tromsø Villmarksenter you’ll see how much care and love goes into their dogs. All the animals are treated so well. You can see just how much these dogs love to run and how excited they get when they see the mushers. Unlike other companies Tromsø Villmarksenter specializes in dog sledding and husky experiences. All of their time and energy is devoted to the dogs - which is so important when choosing a dog sledding trip. There’s nowhere else in Tromsø that offers the range of dog sledding trips that Tromsø Villmarksenter does! You can even opt to be your own musher! If you’re looking for the best dog sledding in Tromsø it’s definitely at Tromsø Villmarksenter.

Very DISAPPOINTING experience. A tourist trap, nothing more. If you’re looking for a genuine ethically-run dog farm, this is definitely not the place. Think about 300+ chained dogs crammed into overcrowded dog houses and sitting next to their poop all day. We went for the « hiking with huskies » tour, organized all through summer. We paid about 250$ for the walk that turned out to be a hike without dogs. Indeed we had 6 dogs for a group of 12 people, but since 2 people decided to keep a dog for themselves for the whole « hike » we didn’t get to walk dogs for most of the hike. This is ridiculous given that you have literally hundreds of dogs waiting next to their poo in a kennel. If i wanted to go on a hiking trail I would have just done it. For the rest of the farm’s visit, the guides were nothing but unhelpful. The organization was chaotic. The guides would disappear around the corner and leave you hanging and clueless as to where to go next if you leave them out of your sight for just a second. I don’t blame them though. By speaking with them, you quickly understand they’re all being exploited. You have over 20 nationalities under one roof (not a single local of course) working here for the season, just for the owner of the farm to be able to cash in big time. Speaking of the owner, we met her because we asked to speak with a manager to voice our frustation regarding the tour and the expectations we had paid for that were not met. I was pretty worked up about this unethical scam and all she was able to say was « Sorry about that, I can’t do anything for you ». The very least would have been to just offer a coupon, or a partial reimbursement for the service which was not provided. But the worse thing remains the horrific living conditions of those animals. They’re emaciated, chained, look sad and are trained for the tourists’ satisfaction only. All in all, AVOID THIS PLACE, do not let this type of businesses carry on their cruel activities by supporting it.

My sister and I booked onto the self-drive dog sledding experience on 14th March 2024. We had an incredible experience from start to finish! When we arrived (we drove ourselves to the centre), we were provided warm overalls to go over our clothes and were directed to a small outdoor seated area. Next, we were taught how to drive the sleds and directed to sit in a sled. Our guide (Leo) was fantastic - very funny and always happy to answer any questions. My sister drove the sled first, while I sat enjoying the ride and taking photos. We swapped at the halfway point. Both sitting and driving the sled were so fun! I also think the experience was the perfect length of time. It was very enjoyable and challenging, but ended before you got too tired or cold. After the sled ride, we were able to walk around and meet the dogs. They were SO friendly and happy to be cuddled. It was a wonderful experience. We then sat in a cosy gamme and were served hot drinks, reindeer stew, and chocolate cake. Everything was delicious and we were well cared for by all of the staff members. Overall, it was an incredibly fun and interesting experience and formed the highlight of my trip to Norway! All of the staff members were fantastic, and Leo was particularly wonderful. Thank you all!

I was on a Snowshoe hike, with a great guide and a nice dog. I was the only one booked for this day, but they still went through with the hike. Which I'm very happy for. My guide, Vicki, she knew about where to hike, and where it was possible to get some nice viewpoint of the area. After a small break, I got to walk with the dog for the rest of the hike and the guide documented it with my camera. (I know this was only possible, because it became a private tour, but still very nice). After the hike I got to spend time in the dog yard, and to visit the puppies. The tour end with hot chocolate and the best chocolate cake you can think of.. It is amazing. Was my second visit, the first was with dog sledding, which also was a great experience. but for me personally, I will do the snowshoe hike again.. There is just a friendly atmosphere and you can feel that all, who works there, are like one big family.. It is an amazing place to visit. Only "bad" thing, is when you get transport to and from Tromsø, by bus, you only have round 3 and half hour at there. I can easy spend much more time there, with the dogs or on a longer hike.

I was there with friends to join a dog sledge tour in the morning. We reached the camp by a tour bus, get equipped with warm clothes and a short introduction how to handle the sledge. After that they showed us the sledge with our 5-6 cute dogs. I was driving the first part of the tour and my brother the second. It was an amazing experience. To see the wildness with much snow in the morning (sunrise) and get pulled by strong and beautiful sledge dogs. After the trip the guides showed us the puppies and we were allowed to cuddle them, later also the adults which are bot do dynamic like thr younger ones ^^ I felt in love with a 2 year old sledge dog on this day. We took a lunch in a wood tippi (warm soup, bread and chocolate cake) close to a warm little house fire. I can warmly refer this tour with these cute dogs and friendly dog trainers to other curious people :) I will never forget these hours in this camp. It was unbelievable ;) I am honest, in the beginning i was afraid to drive the sledge, but after the run you immediatly want drive again
