Stunning forest trails alongside a small waterfall that leads to several mountain top lakes. Trails are wide and clear. Althrough you'll need a map because the trails are broken by residential parking lots and streets. Takes about 2.5 hrs to get to the top....some very steep areas, but very easy to traverse. Sheep roaming in the woods near the top, moss covered forest, smelled like Christmas from the fir trees. Places to primitive tent camp all along the forested areas. It's definitely worth the hike. The views of Trondheim or stunning.

nice forest but a lot of the paths are more like gravel roads, when not, you go through a cleared strip of forest where there are also electric cables and lamps, so if you are looking for a walk through the forest, you won't find it here. the signage is also not very good, many times the arrow points somewhere where there is no path. if you want to visit Grakallen, you can safely go by car, the experience will be the same.

Beautiful area with a lot of lakes and forests a perfect place to go hiking. In addition to that you can get a nice view on the city and the surrounding Fjord. Bymarka is reachable easily by public transport from the city center. In the winter skiing is possible and a lot of slopes are groomed for cross country skiing, there is also a small lift for downhill skiing.

Beautiful nature, BUT it was heavy raining during my visit and my shoes werent good enough to handle it. Instead of paths there were creeks and swampy lakes. And moreover i fell to the mudd and i was really dirty. So if you planning to visit be sure to have good equipment for hiking and check the wheather forecast!!! And i would not recommend it for little children, because the paths are full of rocks and Hard to get throught. Moreover on the highest peak of the land is some securited object so you...
