The pists are generally very wide and well prepared so that is really nice. At some pints there were some small stones suddenly however. For the size (about 10 different pists) it is quite expensive. Renting equipment can be done quickly at the site but is also qute expensive (400 nok for shoes skis poles and helmet). You have to bring an ID to rent stuff. There are only drag lifts so if you cannot ride those there is not much to do for you.

Nice little ski resort with one modern chairlift (2022) close to the Trondheim. Unfortunately, the que for the chairlift gets very long on weekends with nice weather (approx 10-15 minutes waiting time), which makes the place a little harder to recommend, especially with children. Further, they charge for almost full price for children 0-6 years, which is very uncommon and somewhat greedy.

It's near from center city of Trondheim, about 30 minutes by car. You can rent ski, boots, and poles. Casual restaurant is also available. Lift fare are 1500NOK for 2 adults and 2 children in total. If their lifts are bench type like we can see in other countries, I can rate 5 star.

There is no way around the fact that Vassfjellet is small. Compared with Åre or Oppdal, there is only a single main lift and a few slopes.

However, when visiting on a weekday, the size is a significant strength! Any facility is great to visit when you are pretty much alone, but Vassfjellet is small enough you don't really waste any time just getting around.

So, in practice, you get at least as much vertical in four/five hours in Vassfjellet as you'd do over an entire day in one of the much larger, more crowded facilities (both near Trondheim and abroad).

The main lift in Vassfjellet is just a few years old, and works well, and the availabile slopes are fun.

One caveat is that on the weekends, especially when the weather is good, Vassfjellet fills to the brim with visitors, and it feels a bit too small to handle everyone at the same time.

But, if you find a time to go there on a weekday, before the evening crowd shows up, there is no way to beat the proximity to Trondheim (given the bus from Tillerterminalen), and good...

My mother who is plus sized had purchased a ticket and paid to rent skis. Unfortunately there are no boots for plus sized people and my mother did not ski. I asked if it would be possible to get a refund, the people at the desk were very friendly and told me this was possible if I just contact them on email.

I thought everything went well until the person who I was emailing with stopped responding. We never got our money back. This is an unfortunate situation because I loved the slopes but I feel a bit robbed since skiing is expensive and my mother saved up for it. I live in Norway and love skiing when I can afford it, but I won't be returning.

Edit: A day after the review, I was contacted and the issue is solved. Thank you for...

Super nice resort, fantastic for beginners/intermediate skiers. The slopes are well maintained and the staff is highly professional and kind. I was highly impressed how considerate Norwegian skiers are towards beginners even on the more difficult and fast slopes. Very nice experience!

I also love their website which offers a lot of information about the ski conditions, including a live video overview over the slopes.

When there is a queue at the chair-lift, the T-bar ski lift is usually quite empty, so I have used that instead. In anyway, i never waited more than 10 minutes, even in the highly...
