Beautiful but demanding hike. The trail starts with a steep section up to about 350 meters above sea level, on a rocky forest trail with lots of roots and some slippery sections. The views on the sea immediately appear. Above the tree line, you can take a side trail to see the view on Grunnfør fjord and its beautiful colors. The trail further to Matmora now follows a ridge. First gently, but you have to cross a few steeper sections, where you will have to be careful. People with vertigo will not have fun here. The last section still follows the ridge, but here it is a scree field. From the top, you can see the Vesterålen Alps, the mainland, most of Lofoten and more. Stunning. I highly recommend hiking it in the evening (only during midnight sun season). I used 1h40m up, but jogged for quite some time and did not take any breaks. More reasonable hiking time up would be 2.5-3 hours, a bit shorter down. One of the better hikes I have done. Be careful...

Felt like Ireland, Costa Rica, Hawaii, and Yosemite all in one… but...
