This is the best wild camping spot I’ve ever been. There is toilet and access to running water. The place is just perfect for wild camping. The beach is beautiful. There is, however, one drawback… by low tides the smell is sometimes unbearable… Plus, if you’re a person addicted to your phone, be aware that there is no network there!

Una camminata meravigliosa e molto difficile in riva al mare per raggiungere il villaggio abbandonato. Loro la definiscono per famiglie: non credetegli. Noi ci abbiamo messo 8 ore tra andata e ritorno e parecchie parolacce. Ma ne vale assolutamente la pena! Necessarie scarpe da trekking serie e sconsigliata se ha piovuto tanto. Le pietre sono scivolose. Paesaggi mozzafiato, faresti foto a ogni metro che percorri!!

Die Inselbewohner zeigen ihre bekannte skandinavische Freundlichkeit. Ein Beweis ist der Campingplatzbetreiber, der bei Kontaktierung gerne weiterhilft und Norwegisch, Englisch und Deutsch beherrscht.

I’m simply giving it 1 star because it’s now no longer possible to get there! They’ve blocked the road and you pay 200NOK to park on the airfield and it seems the ‘facility’ is to walk 600m to this toilet! Nearly all pull ins have ‘no camping’ signs on Vaeroy…. just to note, not complaining I’m sure they are inundated in...
