It is a very friendly camping site with all the amenities you would expect. If you come I don't think you can possibly be disappointed! It doesn't just have cabins, but places for caravans and tents too, with or without power. Prices were reasonable, but remember it is Norway! So a little more than other places in Europe, but it was worth every penny. It has an immaculate and modern, communal kitchen and dining area, which is very clean and tidy. It has dishwasher facilities too. As well as very clean and tidy shower and toilet facilities. It is impossible to fault these. The owner is extremely helpful and walked around the site with us to ensure we found a pitch that was suitable for us. He couldn't be more helpful. The site was well kept, and the grass was maintained, it has high speed WiFi for free. It is situated next a river and a large lake so fishing is definitely an option. It has some rabbits and sheep on site for the children (and adults) to stroke or feed. As well as a climbing area for older children. Each site is measured with at least 4m between and the tent sites were also all clearly marked with line paint on the grass to prevent over crowding (or the unruly camper encroaching your space). It was all organised very, very well. The reception has a small shop and fresh bread can be ordered too. But for more serious shopping there is a supermarket 5 minutes away. The road noise wasn't noticeable for us despite being next to main road, all we could hear was the breeze blowing off the water and the river running near by. There are also plenty of mountain walks easily reached from the site as well as some more within a 20 minute drive. I would definitely recommend this, we enjoyed the site and scenery so much we stayed an extra...
Read moreDear Patty and René,||It has already been over a month that we visited you, but we still enjoy the memories. Back to our busy lives, we miss the relaxed atmosphere and great nature of Norway. We have never been to Norway before and it is clear to us: we certainly will visit this beautiful country again. It surprised us that there still was so much snow in the mountains in may. Nevertheless, my doughter and I loved it! Your camping is perfectly located for trips by car and hikes. Thanks for your advices René! The short hikes you advised us were great, as well as the trips we made by car. We haven't had any snow in The Netherlands this winter, but were completely compensated for this :). We drove a part of the Valdres Flye and were impressed by walls of snow along the road. We even went skiing (Tyin Filefjell) which is a small but nice ski area. Our trip along the Sognefjorden was impressive. Pictures we thougt you'd only see in brochures became real. But then we had the perfect weather: blue sky and no wind. The surfaces of the lakes were like mirrors, reflecting the snow topped mountains. Beautiful! And after a busy day we slept very well in your neat appartment. We certainly recommend the self baked bread! ||||Thank you Paty and René for this...
Read moreReally enjoyed our time there. Very friendly owner and, actually, very busy! I saw here multiple time running around and taking care of things like the territory and the facilities. With all that, all or request were handled instantly and in a very friendly manner.
The facilities are top-notch: very new and modern showers and toilets (a new block was built in 2018 or 2019). the kitchen area has everything you can only dream of. Induction stoves, washing up liquid and stuff, an industrial dishwasher that does dishes in 10 minutes, lots of cutlery, frying pans, plates, bowls etc. etc. All you can borrow and use.
We stayed in a cabin which was clean and had everything required for a comfortable stay.
We will stay...
