A Unique Experience at the Arabian Oryx Sanctuary – Some Tips for Future Visitors Our half-day visit to the Arabian Oryx Sanctuary was a fascinating experience, but there are a few things that travelers should know in advance to make the most of their trip. 📍 Getting There First, Google Maps directions are outdated—they lead to an old path. Thankfully, there is now a much better off-road route, which makes reaching the sanctuary far more comfortable (we used that on the return trip...) 🌐 Lack of Clear Information One of the biggest challenges is the lack of reliable online resources detailing the opening hours, tour conditions, or pricing. We couldn’t find a proper website, so it was a bit of a gamble getting there without prior confirmation. 🦌 The Visit Itself We arrived at 10:30 AM, and for 20 O.R. total (for four people), we got: ✅ A 45-minute guided tour in a Nissan Patrol to observe the majestic Arabian Oryx and other wildlife. ✅ A short 15-minute visit to a small museum, which provided some interesting insights into conservation efforts. 💰 Payment & Practical Tips • Cash only! 💵 Credit cards are not accepted, so be sure to bring cash. • A 4x4 is recommended, though the new road makes access easier. • Check locally for updated opening times, as online information is unreliable. Overall, the Arabian Oryx Sanctuary is a great stop for wildlife lovers, but some improvements in accessibility and information availability would make it an even better experience. Worth the visit if you’re in the area! ⭐⭐⭐☆☆

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Oman Arabic Sanctuary – Peaceful and Uplifting The Oman Arabic Sanctuary is a truly peaceful and meaningful place. From the moment you arrive, there’s a calm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel connected and at ease. It’s a great spot to pause, reflect, and take in the spiritual and cultural energy of the space. The experience felt very genuine, and the people there were kind and helpful, adding to the overall positive vibe. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into maintaining the sanctuary and creating a respectful environment. The only challenge? Finding the place was a bit difficult—there weren’t clear signs, and the location isn’t super obvious. A bit more guidance would really help first-time visitors. Still, once you get there, it’s absolutely worth it. A quiet gem for anyone looking to experience something deeper and more personal.

You will need to turn left at around 62 km from Haima junction on Haima -Duqm road and follow the track road upto the Alwusta oryx conservation park. Its around 48 km of well maintained flat track road. Recommended to go by a four wheeler or a double cab. The entrance gate is few kilometers before the park. They charge 10 Omani riyals per Vehicle as I was told. Oman Oryx and another small kind of deer, mountain gazelles also available here. Better take water and other necessary snacks as there is no restaurant or canteen to buy anything there.
