The price for the tickets to see thd turtle 🐢 are different as they categories the visitors as local- least payment Residents - bit more u have to pay And visiing visa holders- its bit higher It all cost to see the turtles and for most of them its once in a life time experience . The demerits are - if you are local u have all the previege to see the turtle laging eggs even Since i went i. A group of mixed nationals our group was not so lucky But why this discrimination even after paying much higher price. . One ahkuld reach their by 8:30pm or be ready at the lobby at 4:45 am local time, if ur staying their on any hotel. When u reach their first u have take ticket If ur resident maks sure to take your resident cards with you. Then theh will guide you to the back of that building which is also a hotel. Then their is this arabic instructor A-, who will give instruction only in arabic Then instructor B - who tries to explain in english. Then you have to make a walk almost 20 minutes through the sand. If u have any problem walking have souble thoughts plz. . Then this guide took us through the dark path towards the sea. In between the pathway was slippery so make sure u don't fall. Then after reaching near the sea the guide will advise to wait since his other colleague is searching for the right occasion to see turtles digging the hole and laying the eggs. . In between the guide may give u few info about the types of turtles that visit this part of Ras Al Hinz Turtles reserve... Then he will take you to the site were the turtles lays eggs and leaves back to sea. . He took us to site were turtle is already going to the sea. While what was intimidating was that a group of visitors - which our guide said to me that, they are arabs and let me meet my colleague who is their guide- was circling around and the guide was using a red light to point the turtle in the centre and that group spent mkre time staying their watching thag turtle doing WHAT? IT WAS LAYIMG EGGS SO see the discrimination. I did not expect this from the authorities. This is a really a disheartening experience were visitors come with great expectations and u cripple them . Oh yeah Photos not allowed with flash. Photos to be taken without flash. But the guide can use a flash from mobile fone terrified me. Their the guide said theh have fox which survive on the turtles eggs and new hatchlings. And he was abke show me the foot prints of the fox over the sand. .

Plz any owner or authorities are reading this review please treat every visitors equally. . Other things. We were their at this place on the right time as this was the season as per the guide. Once back to the hotel by walk- their is wash area to wash ur muddy legs and toilets for nes and females. The climate now is bit windy and cold with temperatures as near as 24degrees celcius. There are 4 varieties of turtles that visit this place according to the guide and the photos are attached with this review. Their is wifi available over this place but it is provided only to the people who stay at the hotel. . . . The Ras Al Jinz Turtle Centre, a truly eco-tourism project, was established to help conserve the fascinating and amazing nesting processes of these giants of the marine turtle world. . Facilities at the turtle reserve include a Museum (Turtle Visitors Centre), gift shop, meeting room and library room. . . This was our 6th visit and we have never got bored coming here. This place through which all visitors wanting to get a guided tour have to pass through as it is exclusively organised by them. Even if you are staying in any accomodation outside you have come here for the guide tour as the beach is protected and no one can judt walk in there. There are many sccomodations nearby but this is a single building extending between two hillocks a few hundred metres from the beach, the sea can be viewed from here. Because the building is perched here it blocks out any tresspassers...a brilliant idea. The building is full fledged residential complex with just 2 storeys. There are plenty of rooms which have be booked in advance especially on weekends as it is always full. There is a decent dinning hall serving breakfast for all stayers. Lunch is available on order and buffet dinner. The rooms ar not facing the sea because no light should leak out from the building towards the sea...if the lights reach the beach the turtles will be afraid to come and lay the eggs and the hatvhlings too will get misguided towards land. There is meuseum where a detailed life cycle of the turtles is depicted and very nice for first time visitors and kids. Whenever I have come here I have seen plenty of kids visiting and haven't seen any disappointment on there faces The rooms are more than adequate with a large double bed, fridge, electric kettle, hair dryer, bathing soap, body lotion and shampoo. A variety of tea bags and coffee. They kept plate full of fruits with knife and fork to welcome us! They have room service too. All provinding service are very helpful and polite. I have seen some one and rwo stars here but I think they were unfair. viewing a turtle lay eggs is a matter of chance..100% on one visit during season. 80 to 90% in slightly off season and 60 to 70% in off season. So if you are not visiting in the peak season, then, stay for two days. Visits to beach are in the dark, late evening and early morning and always guided. There is a charge per person per visit if you are residing outside the complex. If you stay here all trips are free. The guides are very knowledgeable and can conduct in several languages. This place is a must visit if you are planning anything for a week or more in Oman. There are also family tents placed outside the building which are also wonderful but I am not...

This isn’t exactly a scam — but it certainly feels like a very overpriced and poorly managed experience. For 200€/night, here’s what you can expect:| • A shower with barely any water pressure and a non-functioning main head (see photo). I had to wash using the handheld, one section at a time.| • A very basic room with no welcome kit or thoughtful touches — just two (literally, two) bags of breakfast tea.| • The “turtle watching tour” involved being left outside the hotel from 8:00 PM until an indefinite time. We waited until 11:00 PM before giving up and heading to bed. No water, no snacks, just loud crowds — mainly children screaming nonstop and parents seemingly unaware of how disruptive that is to everyone else. This is not an experience designed for young kids, or at the very least, parents should be conscious of the environment.| • Rooms are positioned above a corridor that stays noisy with shouting children until midnight.| • The “museum” is made up of three turtle photos and a skeleton. Nothing more.| • For the morning tour, guests are woken at 4:40 AM — with no coffee, no refreshments, and no guide (who was meant to arrive at 5:00, but didn’t show up). When the tour eventually began, it consisted of being dropped off on the beach to watch the sunrise. Had it been described honestly as “a walk to see turtle tracks,” expectations could have been better managed.| • As for dinner and breakfast — while not identical, the food is similar enough (and served in the same trays) to feel repetitive and uninspired.||To be clear: I’m absolutely not blaming the absence of turtles — that’s nature, and it’s completely understandable. What’s disappointing is everything else about the experience, from the lack of organization to the poor facilities and overall disregard for guest comfort.||In short: this is not an experience worth 200€/night.||You’d be much better off investing that amount in a memorable dinner in Muscat, or a desert camp that offers true hospitality — and perhaps even a pool.||P.S. — Whether or not the turtle tour happens, refunds are not offered, for hotel guests or outside visitors alike.||The only thing I won’t be taking home from this...

An unforgettable experience at Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve 🌊🐢 The atmosphere is calm and refreshing, with cool, pleasant air — especially at night. Watching the giant turtles laying their eggs and the tiny baby turtles making their way to the sea was truly magical ❤️ The guides provide fascinating information about the world of turtles, their life cycles, and migration patterns, making the visit both educational and inspiring. Highly recommended for anyone who loves nature and wants to experience the beauty of Oman's wildlife 🌿🌊🐢
