The Oman Aquarium is a premier visitor attraction at the Mall of Muscat, a vast multi-purpose retail and entertainment venue. The multi-story, 5,600-square-meter aquarium has a 1,800,000-litre main tank viewed through a 9-meter x 7-meter viewing panel that weighs 30 tonnes. Al Jarwani Entertainment contracted AAT to design, construct and deliver this project including a review of the concept, schematics and complete design development including the interior architecture. To accelerate construction, AAT concurrently manufactured Fibre-Reinforced Polymer (FRP) exhibit tanks offsite at global prefabrication hub, complete with rockwork and theming. AAT was also responsible for life support systems as well as acrylic thermoforming and bonding. Advanced Aquarium Technologies’ sister-company – AAT Acrylics – manufactured and supplied the acrylic.

I have given excellent just because there was nothing similar in Muscat before. The Oman Aquarium is new addition to the muscat attractions and must see list. It is located inside the new Mall of Muscat in Mabaila area of Muscat. The aquirium is divided into three stories with stairs and lifts inside. Mostly it is fishes and a few varieties of snakes. There are penguins as well. The tickets are divided into two categories- silver and gold. The silver ticket is 8.5 R.O. for adults and 6.5 R.O. for kids which is on the higher side. There is family pack also for 24 R.O. which allows two adults and two kids. The gold category is slightly more as it comes with a guide. The good thing is that details regarding the fishes are provided infront of each panel. However dont go there with any preconcived notion if you have already seen the aquirium at Dubai Mall. The layout of this one is different. There are two tunnels also which adds to the experience. There are photographers at the entrance. If you get yourself photographed at the entrance you will have a chance to buy your framed photo with a background from the acquirium at the exit. Overall a good experience but...

Oman Aquarium at Mall of Muscat is an absolutely amazing place and one of the best family attractions in the city. From the moment you step in, it feels like an underwater adventure brought to life. The variety of marine life is impressive—you can see puffer fish, eels, tortoises, a giant snake, starfish, and many others up close. The glass lift runs right beside the huge main tank, giving you a stunning view of the aquatic world as you go up and down. One of the most breathtaking parts is the aquarium tunnel, where you walk beneath a sea of fish, sharks, and stingrays swimming right above your head—it’s magical!

What made the experience even more special was the bird zone. You can gently hold and interact with friendly birds flying freely around you. One of the parrots, named Rayan, happily landed on my shoulder and even playfully bit my ear—it was such a fun and unforgettable moment!

They also have African penguins and other reptiles, which are all fascinating to watch.

The ticket options are well thought out. The Silver ticket gives you full access to the aquariums. The Gold ticket includes everything in Silver plus extras like fish feeding and close-up tortoise encounters. The Platinum ticket adds a personal tour guide for a more curated experience. I was very impressed by how clean, well-managed, and spacious the place is. It wasn’t too crowded, and the staff were polite, helpful, and informative throughout.

I’m already looking forward to attending many of their special shows in the future—like the diving show, ray feeding, and penguin feeding sessions. There’s even a scuba diving experience available, which I couldn’t try this time, but it’s definitely on my list for next visit. Overall, Oman Aquarium is an unforgettable experience filled with nature, learning, fun, and wonder. Highly...

Oman Aquarium is located in Seeb, just off the main highway that runs alongside the coast. It only takes around 30 minutes to get from your suite to the aquarium. The aquarium is located inside the Mall of Muscat, which also has an indoor snow park and a multiplex cinema. It describes itself as the largest aquarium in the Middle East, with over 8000 sqm of space to explore. There’s a surprising amount of sea life just off the coast, and while many people don’t know how diverse it gets, this is the chance to see what you’d expect if you were out in the water. It’s advertised that there are over 30,000 animals and sea creatures to see when you visit, and although we’ve not been able to count them all, some of the popular animals to see include: Crocodiles Penguins Turtles (the aquarium has a special rehabilitation tank) Jellyfish You can purchase tickets from the official site, although you don’t need to pre-book and can get tickets upon arrival. The aquarium is open as follows: Saturday to Wednesday – 10 am to 11 pm Thursday & Friday – 10 am to 12 pm Last admission is a half-hour before the aquarium closes. There are various tiered options available, with each giving you access to other areas and added benefits during your visit. Average prices at the time of writing are: Silver Adult Ticket – OMR 8.5 Gold Adult Ticket – OMR 11 VIP Adult Ticket – OMR 18
