I’ve been to Sidab Trail more than 20 times, and it never gets old! Whether I come alone for some quiet time, with friends for a fun hike, with my wife for a peaceful walk, or even as part of a leadership training course, this place always delivers a great experience.

The trail itself isn’t too long, but it gives you some stunning views—mountains on one side, the sea and the city on the other. It’s not too difficult, but there are some steep and rocky parts, so wearing good shoes is a must. The whole loop takes about 40-50 minutes, depending on your pace and how often you stop to admire the view (which I always do!).

Aside from hiking, there’s also a walking path nearby, which makes it perfect for a relaxed outing. I’ve seen people setting up picnics and BBQs, and the vibe is always great—especially at sunset.

For me, this trail is more than just a hike; it’s a place to disconnect, reset, and enjoy good company. Whether you’re a local or visiting Muscat, I definitely recommend checking it out. Just bring water, wear comfortable shoes, and try to come in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat. Sidab Trail is truly...

Another interesting place for hiking in Oman, but this one is just next to the sea coastline.⁣ ⁣⁣ Perfect place for quick trip from Muscat as it is located only 35 minutes of driving from Muscat City Center in direction of Souq Mutrah.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Sidab Hiking is a bit challenging and you will realize that just at the beginning when you park your car and you look up to the steep slope. Anyhow it is manageable, we met lot of people there, however only young and fit ones.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The start and ending point is at the same place. If you decide to go all the way to the end like us, you will have to walk 1.3 kms in one direction. At the end you will reach at the beach (that is actually the 2nd one on the way) and cemetery close to the rocks.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The trek is challenging as I said, be careful, some of the rocks are slippery. Make sure you wear proper shoes, you have enough water, swimming suit if you want to swim and follow the trekking marks.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ You will get chance to enjoy in beautiful view of stunning coastline and...

i went to this place without looking at google images so i was not expecting how beautiful it was.

from afar, you would see a ladder going up. you have to pull yourself up using the chains which were safe and secure. you are also guided by the flags painted on the rocks. once you head higher up, you’ll be stunned with the view of the city but further more of the trail, you’d see the sea and this hidden area where the sea is calm and also safe to swim at.

the rocks are quite slippery so it’s best to wear hiking shoes to be safe. as there is no light at night time, i would suggest that the best time to visit here would be before sunset. you can also bring a flash light or your phone’s flash light.

you can finish the trail in 2 hours but we stayed longer because we enjoyed checking the scenery and went for a swim. the swimming part is a bit rocky so we brought our aqua shoes. if you have goggles with you, you’d be seeing...
