Baralacha La Pass is an extraordinary destination nestled at an impressive height of 4850m/15912ft in the Zanskar range of Northern India. This high mountain pass serves as a meeting point for the crossroads from Spiti, Ladakh, Zanskar, and Lahaul, making it a truly unique and significant location. The ride to Baralacha La Pass is nothing short of epic. The journey itself is filled with breathtaking landscapes and stunning vistas that leave you in awe. As you ascend to higher altitudes, the air becomes crisper, and the temperature drops significantly. Even in the month of August, the chill is palpable, requiring visitors to bundle up in jackets to keep warm. Once you reach the pass, you are greeted with a picturesque panorama that stretches as far as the eye can see. The 360-degree view of the majestic Himalayas is a sight to behold, and it leaves you feeling humbled by the grandeur of nature. Along the way, you can also make pit stops at Deepak Tal and Suraj Tal, two stunning lakes, to capture some breathtaking photographs. It is important to note that due to the high altitude, people with asthma should take necessary precautions as the thin air can cause breathlessness for everyone. Facilities in the area are limited, with only small dhabas available for meals before reaching the pass. So it's advisable to carry some snacks and water with you. In conclusion, Baralacha La Pass is a must-visit destination for adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. From its towering altitude to the meeting of crossroads and the mesmerizing views, this place offers a unique and unforgettable experience. Just be there, soak in the beauty, and let the grandeur of the Himalayas leave you awestruck.

IT'S A BLOO*Y EXPERIENCE! Hear me out. Get to Manali. Rent a bike you love. And just travel to and fro Baralacha La Pass. You won't regret a single second. Even just thinking about the journey I had, gives me immense dopamine and goosebumps. The whole route is a feast for the eyes. The sound of the Lahaul valley. The enchanting beauty of Jispa. The adventure of offroading enroute Baralacha La Pass. Can't explain. There are multiple water passes from Darcha to BLP and are really challenging. Travelling alone is gonna be even tougher and challenging and I don't advise it. At the top, there's an oxygen problem but I advise you to stay for a couple days in Manali then a day in Jispa and then keep stopping for a few minutes regularly on the way to BLP from Jispa because then your body will get acclimatized to the oxygen depletion and you won't face much problem at the top. I took a Reborn 350 from Manali and made some epic memories I can't stop thinking of. Thanks to God for providing me this opportunity and also for keeping me safe throughout the journey. I wish good luck to anyone thinking of experiencing BLP. GO DIG IT BABY!

Baralacha also known as Baralacha La Pass, at 4,850 m or 16050 ft is a high mountain pass in Zanskar range, connecting Lahaul district in Himachal Pradesh to Leh district in Ladakh. The Leh–Manali Highway traverses the pass. The two headwaters of the Chenab River, Chandra and Bhaga, originate near the Baralacha Pass. The Bhaga river originates from Surya taal lake, which is situated a few of kilometers from the pass towards Manali. The Chandra originates from glacier in this region. The native name of Chenab, "Chandrabhaga", represents the union of Chandra and Bhaga rivers downstream. Cross roads from Spiti, Ladakh, Zanskar and Lahaul meet at the Baralacha Pass. In ancient times it was part of a trade route. On the northwest originates the Bhaga River while the Chandra flows south-east. Below the Baralacha-la is an emerald lake, the Suraj tal (Sun lake), the source of the river Bhaga.

Awesome place...I went here in summer with my wife and daughter. It's amazing place to play with snow. In summers as well I found white snow here. One advice before going here is that carry plenty amount of water with you because as you step down from vehicle you will feel lack of oxygen. Drinking water will help you. You will also face very cool wind, hills right in front of your eyes. Wear woolen clothes. If you want to play in snow then wear snow suit with boots. This place is open from March to September. On this route you will see deepak tal and Sanjay tal, sissy, keylong, chandra and bhaaga river and the joint point of these rivers. It will take 4 to 5 hrs from manali to reach here. Overall very good place to visit and remember the water, woolen clothes. It's okay to go with kid but don't play in snow too long. If your child feels uncomfortable then leave the place immediately.

Folklore states that there were two lovers, Chandra being the daughter of the Moon and Bhaga the son of the Sun god. To perform their eternal marriage, they decided to climb to the Bara-lacha-la and from there they ran in opposite directions. Chandra being active and smart, easily found her way and reached Tandi after covering the distance of 115 km Soon Bhaga was found coming with great struggle through the narrow gorges to Tandi, where consequently both met and the celestial marriage was performed. Bhaga covered about 60 km distance, which was very difficult. Baralachala means summit with cross roads from Spiti, Ladakh, Zanskar and Lahaul meet here and in ancient times it was part of a trade route. On the North West lies the Bhaga River while the Chandra flows south-east. Near below the Baralacha-la is having a beautiful emerald lake the Suraj tal the source of the river Bhaga.

Baralacha La, also known as Baralacha Pass, is a high mountain pass in the Zanskar range of the Himalayas in northern India. It is situated at an elevation of about 4,890 meters (16,040 feet) and connects the Lahaul district in Himachal Pradesh to the Ladakh region in Jammu and Kashmir. This pass is a critical point on the Manali-Leh highway, a popular route for adventurers and travelers exploring the rugged terrains of the Himalayas. The name "Baralacha La" means "pass with crossroads on summit" (Bara means "big" and la means "pass"). It is known for its stunning landscapes, but the area can be challenging to traverse due to its high altitude and the possibility of sudden weather changes. Crossing this pass at night might be difficult due to sudden change of weather conditions. Traffic stalls at many places due to influx of tourists
