This location is probably the best place in Chitral where you can get a magnificent panoramic view of the Hindukush Mountain Range and the highest peak on this range, Mount Tirich Mir standing at 7,708 meter above sea level, the 33rd highest mountain in the world. We arrived around 12.00 noon and was rewarded with a nice clear view of Tirich Mir. It is recommended to hire a 4x4 to take you up the windling narrow road from Chitral town, and the journey will take about 1 - 1.5 hours to get to the fort location. For the more adventurous, I was told that you can hike up the mountain to this site as well. There is no fees to enter this National Park. There is no facilities (toilet, restaurant, etc.) available so best to prepare food and drinks before starting your journey up the mountain.

The fort was not in a good state, there is definitely some renovation required for the fort as the arch and stairs leading up to the entrance were in a bitter state, almost all the windows were broken as well. Sadly the worst part was the fact that we weren't allowed to enter the fort as the Summer fort, located in Chitral Gol National Park was in the possession of the prince of Chitral and as such his servants currently occupied the fort which hindered us from entering. The fort was something of a disappointment as we saw it I'm shambles and weren't allowed to enter.

Fantastic views from here! So pristine, quiet and completely in tune with nature. If visiting, please respect this wonderful place and keep noise to a minimum and take back all your trash with you!
