Broghil Valley National Park — Attraction in Gupis Tehsil

Located way up north very close to Afghanistan’s Wakhan Corridor, Broghil Valley was formerly only accessible via trek or horseback. These days, the once-hidden locale can be reached by a treacherous jeep track – yet it still only receives a handful of visitors during the few months it’s not frozen under heaps of snow.

Currently, whether or not foreigners are allowed to visit Broghil is iffy. (If you’re insistent, make sure you check with the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Chitral before making the trek up there.) But Pakistanis – please go see this beauty! The valley is home to numerous high-altitude lakes, yaks, and sprawling green pastures, all set against a dramatic mountainous backdrop that soars above 13,000 feet.

Broghil Valley (Urdu: بروغل‎) is a valley and national park located in the upper northern reaches Chitral District, of Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It is located close to the Afghan-Pakistan border.

Broghil valley is located at a distance of 250 km from main Chitral town and is the northernmost valley of Chitral district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

وادی بروغل

درکوت یاسین سے وادی بروغل کا ٹریک تقریباً دو دن کا ہے۔وادی کی کل آبادی تقریباً 250 گھرانوں پر مشتمل ہے ۔ اس وادی میں تین زبانیں واخی، سری قلی ، اور کرغیز بولی جاتی ہے ۔ ان زبانوں میں بولنے والوں کی تعداد کے حساب سے واخی بروغل کی بڑی زبان ہے ۔

اس وادی کی خاص بات جو سعید ولی بھائی سے پتہ چلا کہ قرمبرجھیل کے علاوہ 40 کے قریب اور بھی کئی رنگین پانیوں والی چھوٹی چھوٹی جھیلیں ہیں ۔

جون کے آخری ہفتے یا جولائی میں یہاں کی خوبصورتی اپنے عروج پر ہوتی ہے ۔یہی دورانیہ بروغل جانے کے لیے سب سے موزوں ہے

یہاں سردیوں کا موسم بہت سخت ہوتا ہے ۔ سردیوں کا دورانیہ سال میں سات مہینہ رہتا ہے ۔چھ سے سات مہینے کی برف باری کی وجہ سے علاقے کے لوگ بچے، بوڑھے اور عورتیں موسم کی شدت کو کم کرنے کے لیے افیون کا نشہ کرتے ہیں ۔

وادی بروغل کے لوگوں کا واحد زریعہ معاش گلہ بانی ہے ۔وادی کے لوگ مال برداری اور سفر کے لیے زیادہ تر گھوڑا، گدھا اور یاک استعمال کرتے ہیں ۔ بعض ایسے لوگ بھی ہیں جنہوں نے ابھی تک موبائل فون، تارکولی سڑک اور چترال کا بازار بھی نہیں دیکھا ہے ۔
