Khanpur dam is situated about 40 kms far from the federal capital Islamabad, on Taxila Haripur Road. This Khanpur Dam attracts many tourists from Pakistan as it has many colorful and attractive events to show off. For a day trip/picnic, it is an ideal place where you can enjoy cliff diving (20ft), boating, fishing, swimming, adventure, water sports, Skiing, angling, Spelunking, Night caving, Rock Climbing, Team Rappelling, and beautiful views. Paragliding and parasailing have also been started there now adays.. You can go for camping as well and enjoy bonefire there.. But one negative point is also there that you only get pkoras as a food there..so you must take your own food with you..because you wont get a quality food...

The facilities were well-maintained, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I also appreciated the picnic areas and restaurants nearby.
