When travelling to Hunza from Gilgit, on Karakoram Highway lies the worlds 27th highest peak, The Rakaposhi. And the Rakaposhi viewpoint is the remarkable spot to sit in the shadow of Rakaposhi. From this spot, the complete aspect of the mountain, along with its peak is clearly visible. Thither is a restaurant, tuck shop and gems & handicraft shop. Cold and clear water is flowing from the glacier, we sit along the stream to enjoy this marvellous place. Drinking tea or coffee at this place gives an astonishing experience, with your feet dipped in the cold water of the glacier. This place is also excellent for capturing photographs, so remember to bring your camera and take lots of photographs. This place is a must visit for those travelling toward Hunza Vallery.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant and I must say, it was a fantastic experience. Despite the cold weather. I ordered the chicken biryani, which was flavorful and perfectly cooked, and paired it with a local Pakistani tea, which was simply delicious. The restaurant's location offers a perfect view of the mountain scenery, which added to the cozy and relaxing atmosphere. Although the menu had limited options or not your food type, but it’s worth to try. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for experience with a stunning view of the mountains. I'm giving it 4 stars because although I enjoyed my visit, I believe there is always room for improvement. I can't wait to come back and try more dishes!

Don’t plan a mandatory night there but if you need to stop for the night on your way to Passu, if you are too late for catching the sunset at Eagles Nest, then you can stay at Rakaposhi Viewpoint. It is, right on the KKH, in Ghulmet (don’t get confused with Gulmit) 30 km before Karimabad (coming from Gilgit). The best light on the enormous Rakaposhi wall of ice is on early morning, while at the end of the afternoon part of the summit is in shadow (though it is still a nice view). The place has (too) many domestic tourists. It is a bit noisy but you come for the mountain and it deserves it. You can also just stop to have a drink or a tea with your feet in the cool river, enjoying the powerful scenery before continuing your travel.
