Mauj Garh Fort, established in 1743 AD by Muhammad Maroof Khan Kehrani, stands as a testament to Mughal architecture, although now mostly in ruins. This square fort, originally adorned with glazed tiles and featuring a single dome, was constructed using solid bricks and mud. Today, while traces of its historical grandeur remain, much of the fort's structure has succumbed to time. The fort's square plan measures 325 feet on the southern side, 312 feet on the western side, and 238 feet on the northern side, fortified with semicircular bastions along its walls. Located 80 kilometers from Fort Abbas, 170 kilometers from Bahawalnagar, and 22 kilometers from Marot along the Yazman-Fort Abbas Road, Mauj Garh Fort once held a significant place in history, now preserved as a reminder of its former splendor despite its current state...

The Moj Garh fort was founded by Muhammad Maroof Khan Kehrani, in 1743 A.D. This square fort decorated with glazed tiles and surmounted by a single dome stands about 400 yards south of the fort. The fort is at a distance of 32 km from Marot Fort

At present the fort is in ruins. The outer burnt-brick facing and the interior facing of the fortification wall has collapsed at several places exposing the mud brick core. The fort is almost square in plan measuring 325, 312, and 238 feet on the southern, western and northern sides respectively. The walls are strengthened with a series of semi...

Mojgarh Fort (1743), Cholistan Desert, Bahawalpur** This beautiful and captivating fort from the past, where every brick seems to whisper tales of history, reminds us of the divine name of Allah and serves as a lesson that one should never misuse their power or status. Time spares no one. Take a moment to reflect on the construction of this fort—how grand and majestic it must have been in its prime. The towering, wide walls alone inspire awe, and it takes courage to even gaze upon them.

Muhammad Maruf Khan began building it in 1743 (His tomb can be found 400 yards south of the fort). It was completed by his son Jan Muhammad Khan and his successor Umar Khan in 1757. It has semi-circular bastions, eight each on the north, south and west. The eastern side has a detailed and arched gateway which is 10 feet wide. There is a mosque nearby too.
