Parque Nacional Isla Bastimentos — Attraction in Bastimentos

We anchored here for 4 nights and took several dinghy trips in for some hiking and dining. We ate at Mami's along the hike to Wizard Beach. We had date night eating delicious Tapas food at Firefly. We shared a simple lunch overlooking the bay at Guari Guari and had a couple beers for a $1.50 at a hostel near the public dinghy dock. Maravillosa isla, muy tranquila, donde sólo se escuchan las olas y los insectos por las noches. Tiene playas largas de arena blanca y agua templada perfecta para refrescarse, pocas olas y poca profundidad a varios metros desde la orilla, excelente para nadar y para los niños. Sufrimos muchas picaduras de insectos que llaman "chitra", estos miden 1mm aproximadamente lo cual dificulta verlos y no los espantan los repelentes. Recomiendo para ello al atardecer, usar pantalón fresco y camiseta manga larga, usar crema antihistamínica para aliviar la picazón.Y en la cabaña encender una "mechita", la venden en la comunidad, ayuda a espantar mosquitos. Recomiendo también almorzar en la comunidad Salt Creek, por 10 dólares el plato. Ayer almorzamos pescado de la zona con arroz y patacones más agua de coco para beber. Es necesario avisar un día antes a algún guía de la comunidad, que llegarán a almorzar. La comida estaba realmente sabrosa, el pescado delicioso.
