The entrance to the trail is through Hotel Campestre. As you drive/walk in stay on your right. If you park on the right-most spot you can find at the hotel, you will be 50ft from the trail's office. The trail itself is a 1.4km loop, mostly flat and suitble for walking (it is too short for running). It is well kept and and a very attractive option for small children. I went with my 1.5yr old and my 4yr old nephew and they both had a blast. I only had to carry my 1.5yr old about 30% of the time; mostly on the parts than were not flat. Entrance fees are $4 for adults and $1 for children. I definitely recommend it for families...

We came to the Square Trees Nature trails not only for the hike, but also to find a geocache hidden there. Unfortunately the cache was not hidden where it was supposed to be, but was sitting in the office of the Golden Frog "sanctuary, research center". I can"t recall its official title. This was ok though as it led us to meet a young woman named Allie (sp?) that works there. We had a nice conversation and she led us to the start of the Square Trees Hike. The hike is an easy one and i absolutely recommend it. It's well marked, beautiful and interesting. Great...

Beautiful location. Nice easy walk in mainly shaded area. We saw lots of wildlife including sloths and squirrels. The golden frogs and other species that are on display in the small museum are really interesting and a friendly member of staff talked to us about each one. This is part of a research and breeding programme as most of those you can see are critically endangered. Well worth a visit and the small entry fee. Takes about 45 minutes to walk here from the middle of town or about 20 minutes from the Golden Frog Inn...
