Great spot for a combination of unique geographical characteristics, and a leisurely dip in refreshing fresh water...several pools have been created by past visitors which divides the river into separate pools, some deep enough to dive in, some just for paddling around on a tube, and at the mid point of the mini canyon you can just float through between the walls. Read moreWe visited Los Cangilones de Gualaca at the beginning of July during the rainy season. Even with the rain, the place was stunning — clean, dramatic, and full of natural beauty. While we were there, the siren went off to warn visitors that water was rising quickly and getting stronger, a good safety measure that made us feel looked after.
Despite the weather, we loved the experience and will definitely be back. Highly recommend — a beautiful natural spot that’s worth seeing...
Read moreGualaca canyon was fairly easy to find by car, about 50 minutes from Boquete but well worth the trip after a morning of hiking. The canyon was a beautiful blue color and you can jump from the top of the cliff down into the water. Many locals swim there but it felt very safe. We had a lot of fun in the warm canyon water. We paid $2 USD to park our car, however if going later in the evening, no one was collecting money that we noticed on our way out. Well...
