It is an up and down hike to a view point over the valley. The viewpoint is amazing and stretches towards the horizon and hides a cool. Cave. The trail itself is simple but nice. Some gravel road and some forest and green hills. It was not as tropical as some of the other trails and the wildlife is limited possibly because of the deforestation. There is no parking if you have your own car but there is some space on the side of the road at the start. The guy in the red house asks for 5 dollar to pass his house. I really don’t understand the comments about having an issue with the $5 fee. Most trails in the area cost $5 pp. The lost waterfalls costs $10 pp. I don’t speak any Spanish - the home owners were friendly to me, I handed them $5 and went on my way. Read moreFor those of you thinking about doing the vulcan baru hike - dont do it, go to this viewing point instead. We took a taxi to highest point and walked 2 hours up to the viewing point. It was exhausting but it was worth it. Since we went for the sunrise, we didnt see the owner of the property as mentioned in the ratings below. From this view point we saw the sunrise, had a clear and great view through Boquete and maybe even Panama and also were able to see the vulcano. It was really great and I would everyone...
