Two waterfalls about twenty feet in height. It is a relatively small area so everything about it feels very accessible. There is access to the top of the waterfall by walking on the rocks. There is also access to the bottom area by climbing down the section of rocks. There is even a small island right in the center that you can walk to.

You can stand and swim under the waterfalls. The water is dark like mud, though, so swim at your own risk. The site is free to visit. Very easy to get to, only about seven minutes from the main commercial road. The township could do a lot more to turn it into a tourist attraction. Hopefully, that will happen soon.

The very name of La Chorrera is said to be influenced from the several waterfalls in the middle of...

🦋Según los abuelos, es el cuerpo de un ambicioso hombre que un Viernes Santo, se dirigió al río y entre el remolino que forma la cascada al caer, se le apareció una hermosa doncella, quien le ofrecía una peineta de oro y una totuma. 🦋 👱🏻‍♀️Ella le preguntó cuál quería, y el hombre escogió la de oro y por eso se convirtió en piedra. 🦋 🌊 Su caída de agua sirvió para suministrar energía eléctrica al distrito de La Chorrera. Recorrió el mundo en la película “𝙻𝚘𝚜 𝙼𝚞𝚎𝚛𝚝𝚘𝚜 𝚢 𝚕𝚘𝚜 𝙳𝚎𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚖𝚒𝚜𝚊𝚍𝚘𝚜”, de la década de los 50.

I had just posted a review of these falls and one of the locals came to tell us the because we were a group of 4 we shouldn’t stay here. She implied that we were unsafe and “people would come and take things from us”. We hadn’t felt unsafe walking through any of the islands, Panamá City or anywhere on our travels - it was a completely disappointing end to our...
