A memorable experience for me when I visited 9 years ago. Probably one of the most beautiful Military Cemeteries in New Guinea. It is south of Rabaul along a scenic drive down the coast, then turning inland just past the Vunapope Catholic Cathedral into the very steep hills. The high location of the cemetery allows views of the two big active volcanoes to the north at Rabaul. High shrubs with flowers add to the presence of this solemn place.
