Overall I enjoyed the experience...but they need more directional signs and more animal description signs. I also wish they would put some effort into fixing the walking paths to make them even and continuous. A lot of people bring their young children and strollers when they go to an outdoor place like a zoo and they shouldn't have to struggle pushing it when this is a place you pay to get into. So they need to put some effort and money toward maintaining their grounds, especially near the tigers and birds. That was a quite annoying. The occasional translation into English would be welcome - in the meanwhile there's Google translate. No entry charge and from there we spent hours in the park. Read moreIf you're in Asuncion, make the time to get to the botanical garden and zoo. You can take the number 13 bus to get there. It's a big place so be prepared to walk a lot. It's a nice place for a picnic, just make sure to bring something against mosquitoes. There's a natural museum inside with plenty of stuffed and preserved animals. The garden is free but you'll have to pay 2$ to enter the zoo by foot (and pay extra if by car). It's a small zoo and there's not a lot of things to see or do there, but still it's a nice walk.
