DANGER: I asked one of the employees if the elevator ever had fallen (it looks terrifying from below). To my surprise she answered that only the cargo elevator had fallen - with one of the employees inside. This elevator is an absolute nightmare from a security perspective yet the charge 5 USD to ride it. Eventually it will fall and you don't want to be the one person dying that makes them finally fix the installation.

Generally everything looks run down and apparently no money goes to maintenance at all.

They don't accept cards and the nearest ATM is in downtown Ciudad del Este.

Go to Argentina instead. Paraguay is not really...

To avoid confusion: approaching the falls on the road you first come to Monday Adventure Park which is privately owned & gives a more distant view of the falls. $12 US entry for foreigners. If you continue about 300 metres down the road you arrive at the park which is government run, also costs $12 & gives a close up view of the falls. It's worth paying 30,000 guarani more to take the elevator to the base of the falls. I used the stairs before for free but that's no longer allowed, You can get near the falls by bus from CDE. The buses are fairly regular in daylight hours & cost 5000G. They leave you about 1KM...

Total rip off they charge $10 for americans which is 3x the price in local currency. Iguacu Falls is only about $4 more and far more impressive. No credit card swipe here either, so if you are coming from Brazil you need to exchange for local currency. Just walk up the road a bit you can see it just fine up there for FREE, unless if you value having the full experience of going on their elevator and steps. Beautiful waterfall though, definitely worth viewing from the street. You can also go to the park next door and even get a raft ride to the falls for just $8 which is a way...

Beautiful falls, worth checking out, restaurant there is cute with decent food. The elevator is a great idea, but for folks wanting to use the stairs, beware that you can't return on the stairs, you need to use the elevator, which we found out after we trumped up all the stairs and have to return to the bottom. The door to get to the landing was bolted shut. The walk down to see the falls is pretty and quite doable for families. A small guest shop is there to spend some coin. Definitely worth going to and getting some great pictures of an often overlooked spectacular falls.

The waterfall is beautiful but nothing compared to Iguaçu falls. And the entrance fee (65BRL/person) is almost the same as Iguaçu on the Brazil side, for which you get to walk a tiny circuit to the fall and go up and down an elevator. The restaurant inside doesn’t seem to function around lunch time, and overall the place doesn’t feel like they want to do much business. If you are nearby and don’t mind the entrance fee, you can stop by. But otherwise it doesn’t make sense to visit this place.

Pretty and largely untouristed waterfalls near CDE (and with better views of the falls here than at the nearby adventure park) but it's probably the most expensive tourist activity in Paraguay with the cost for foreigners 115,000 and little to do beyond walking to and looking at the falls, which even if you putter won't take more than an hour. Would only recommend visiting if you're planning to spend time in CDE rather than making it a reason to visit.
