A short (25-30 minute), fairly steep hike with great view of green countryside and the nearby small town of Capiíbary.
Capiíbary is about halfway between Asunción and the border of Brazil by Guaira. If you're making the trip to or from Brazil or going to Paraguay's Mbaracayú Nature Reserve, Capiíbary is a good stop for gas, food, and a hotel (and of course a quick hike!) (The Canindeyu Bus goes between Asunción and Salto de Guairá by Brazil and makes a stop in Capiíbary).
To access the hike from Ruta 10, go to the Puma gas station on the north end of town. It's on the east side of the ruta. Travel east 3/4 kilometer along the intersecting road by puma. Then turn right and the trail head is by a white water tank about 30-40 m up the dirt road. Hike up the sandy trail a few minutes and you will see another trail going right. A few meters down this trail you will see stone stairs on your left. Hike to the top from here. From the top you can return the same way or on the other side. See the trail...

Great panoramic views from the top with plenty of places to sit in sun or shade. There's a cool little cave you can climb down to at the end. Note: The two secondary peaks have no trails - climb at your own risk if you can find a way up! Exhilarating when you...
