This mirador is about a 20 minute walk from Cabanaconde's main plaza, and if you were heading to the bottom of the canyon to Llahuar like I was, from here it's about a 4 hour trek. The Mirador is an exciting landmark because it previews exactly what you're up against, giving a clear view and idea of where you're supposed to go (provided you're doing the trek). It's a nice spot to take pictures but more it's like seeing the finish line before starting the marathon. There was a park employee standing nearby and two people that I had seen at the Mirador Cruz del Condor earlier enjoying the view. The park employee said nothing to me, which is odd because reading other reviews, you apparently have to pay him? Did not have that issue. Anyways, good spot to see the Colca canyon in all its glory.

Beautiful view point - well worth a quick hike from the town (maybe 15-20 minutes). You also pass a quite interesting bull-fighting ring on the way!
