Carmen Alto viewpoint — Attraction in Cayma

From what I’ve heard the owners of this place are not kind to animals. They don’t want any stray dog or cat in the place. The food they sell is overpriced and the quality is bad. Sodas are expensive sandwiches are low quality and they sell them for 12 soles. They even charge you to get in. This place used to be free but now it’s monopolized by who knows. Hopefully they learn how to be kind to animals since they are located out there in nature. To the owners: be kind to animals. Do better and if you are going to sell food make it decent...

Good spot for taking photos of all three volcanoes that surround Arequipa. Opens at 8am and will cost a few Soles. The Yanahuara Mirador seems to be the more popular spot for breathtaking views of Arequipa but if you want a bit more privacy and maybe a chance to catch some wildlife (cows, Andean parakeets) then Carmen Alto viewpoint is nice too. Ya son varias veces que voy con mi familia, y siempre antes de la hora de almuerzo, poca gente y buena vista. Sin embargo en esta visita fuimos por la tarde, cerca a la hora de cierre, bastante gente y no se podía tomar muchas fotos, pero así son los lugares turísticos. Lo que si fue desagradable de ver, fue el area con piso de vidrio, te cobran 15 soles para poder subir ahí por persona, hay "privados" como carpas pequeñas y son espacios "romanticos" donde están parejas echadas sobre redes con almohadas, pero eso se puede observar desde la parte baja, por lo que la "privacidad" de las parejas está a vista y paciencia de todos incluidos los niños, no es el lugar para tan "efusivas" muestras de cariño, es un mirador turístico por lo que hay muchos turistas, incómodos porque por ese lado no pueden desplazarse ya que a penas se dan cuenta de lo que sucede sobre sus cabezas tienen que retirarse. Además no está limpio y ya se empieza a ver algo descuidado, a pesar de que se paga entrada. Es una pena porque si se pueden hacer...
