Well worth the hike and the challenge of getting to the entrance. Most would come from Chachapoya - Tuk-tuk or taxi would be able to take you to where you have to register, then have the driver take you to the entrance of the park. Its not worth the hike to the entrance - nothing much to see. There are 3 waterfalls, all coming down from the mountain tops. Not ripe roaring rivers, but the scenic views are quite amazing, in my opinion. I'm 66 and hiked it by myself, and I'd do it again. Read moreWell worth the time and transport it takes to get here. When you take moto taxi from San Pedro, they will first take you to Cuispes to register for the hike and pay the entrance fee. From Cuispes it is a 5 kilometer hike to the moto taxi parking OR you can pay your moto taxi driver to take you. We hiked it, but regretted it, because there really aren’t any nice views and its uphill the entire way. If you want a long hike, then sure, hike it from Cuispes, but you aren’t missing much of you skip it.

The trail goes through the jungle where you listen to strange jungle noises and there were no other people on the train when we visited.
