Wilcacocha — Attraction in Huaraz

It's a good hike to acclimatize to the altitude. The path is well marked and there are always people along the way, both locals and tourists, that will happily help you if needed. We took approx. 2.5h with breaks, it's not a hard hike but depends on how you feel about altitude. Take plenty of water and snacks with you. Good acclimatization hike with a path that is easy to follow. From Huaraz you can take a collectivo (Such as number 10, they go through the yellow road on GMaps, not far from the Plaza de Arma). The hike took me a bit less than 2 hours up and 1.5 hours down (With breaks). Lot of dogs (especially on the top) on the way but they are peaceful and just want your food. Nice little lake, but the beautiful part are the mountains around. You can get here by taking a collectivo in Huaraz to Santa Cruz and then hiking up. Or by taking a taxi who van bring you all the way up to the lake.
