Wilcahuaín is regarded as one of the most important archaeological sites of the Wari culture. It was possibly built ca. 1100 AD.

Los Restos Arqueológicos de Wilcahuain se encuentran a 7 km de la ciudad de Huaraz y con 3250 m.s.n.m., no cuenta con pista razón por la cual el recorrido a este centro Arqueológico dura alrededor de 45 minutos, puede tomar taxis que le cobraran alrededor de S/. 15.00, Ruinas de Wilcahuainpero los carros que con frecuencia van a este lugar tardan en salir y el pasaje es de S/. 1.30 (hasta el mismo lugar). También se puede llegar caminando una 2.5 horas. Wilcahuain es un templo de influencia de la cultura Huari, éste templo de piedra está construida con plataformas superpuestas que se divide en tres pisos. A 1 km de Wilcahuain se encuentra Ichic Wilcahuin (puede llegar con carro o caminando desde Wilcahuain), éste presenta construcciones de piedras y son más grandes que Wilcahuain. La visita a estos dos centros arqueológicos se puede hacer en menos de medio día.

Visitas Martes – Domingo y feriados 8:00 – 17:00

Entradas Adultos: S/5.00, Est. Universitarios, Jubilados y docentes: S/2.00 Escolares: S/0.50

La atención es diaria, pero no cuenta con restaurantes sino solo con pequeñas tiendas. La visita a estos dos centros arqueológicos se puede hacer en menos...

Cool mummy house with attractive design and layout. You can walk through and see some of the ceramics found there in the site museum. A look back 1,000 years, and no one else was there at the time. 5 sol entry in April 2019. There are reports of robbery gangs operating on hiking trails above and below here so I suggest sticking to the main road...

excelentes ruinas..me parecen algo similares a las construcciones de CHAVIN todo de piedra , dos pisos techado...excelente vista de otro angulo de la cordillera blanca ....el circuito es corto..además hay un circuito hacia la laguna y un nevado, que a simple vista se nota exigente...para retornar a Huaraz hay dos rutas caminando cuesta abajo directo a la ciudad...y tambien hay una mejor que termina en los BAÑOS TERMALES DE MONTERREY..pasando por el pueblo de REFRISH..bordeando la montaña, entre chacras al costado del canal de regadío y de aquí, otra vista espectacular del NEVADO HUASCARAN ...Luego empieza un empinado descenso hacia MONTERREY....desde lo alto se puede apreciar los baños..Y de ahi.... en combi a HUARAZ S/1.0..........P,D,..Tomar las combis en la calle simon bolivar cruce con caraz en la ciudad de huaraz A SOLO S/1,50 Soles Y Te dejara en la misma puerta de las ruinas de WILCAHUAIN
