Public Aquarium Nautilus — Attraction in Lima Metropolitan Area

I recently visited Nautilus Aquarium and was really impressed by the dedication of the staff. It’s clear that the team here is passionate about marine life and does their best to create a great experience for visitors, even while working with limited resources. Every employee I interacted with was knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to share insights about the animals and conservation efforts, which really made the visit special.

One of the most exciting aspects of my visit was hearing about the upcoming exhibits! The plans for expansion and new habitats sound incredible, and I can’t wait to see how they enhance the experience in the future. It’s clear that the aquarium is moving in a really positive direction, and I love that they’re always looking to improve.

That said, some of the older exhibits and systems could use a little TLC. A few tanks showed signs of wear, and certain areas felt like they could benefit from updates. However, given the effort and enthusiasm of the staff, I have no doubt that they’re doing everything they can to maintain and improve the facility.

Overall, Nautilus Aquarium is a great place to visit, especially for anyone who loves marine life and wants to support an organization that truly cares about its animals and its mission. I’m excited to see how it evolves, and I’ll definitely be back to check out the new exhibits...

It's small place, but it has many interesting species. Also, the amount of work, science, and chemical knowledge behind doors is amazing, if you understand and think about it. Could be better, yes, but it's working to upgrade, they are now building a tunnel. They can improve things, for sure, let's just keep supporting them, it looks they have the mindset to do so.

I would suggest them to focus the introductory video, to focus on people education in the place, like not touching or hitting the glass in the aquarium, not dropping garbage on the floor, not running or screaming to kids.

The restaurant was great, the service with full safety protocol for these times, the menu was good enough in variety, and the flavor was good but it should be better. It's not Tanta level, but...

ACUARIO NAUTILUS: UBICACIÓN: Distrito de Comas, cerca al paradero San Carlos, en la Av. Universitaria (hacia el Oeste de este paradero). ENTRADAS: (a febrero 2025) 28.00 soles entrada general. Menores de 5 y mayores de 80, no pagan entrada (para ello debe presentar DNI). Si almuerza en su restaurante, la mayoría de los platos fluctúan entre 30 a 40 soles (algunos menos, algunos más). El año 2024 por promoción se descontaba 5 soles al plato, por cada entrada pagada (no incluía bebida, ni postres). Consultar si hay promoción el día de su visita.

Un excelente lugar, donde podrá pasar todo el día en familia, si lo desea; pero antes, recibirá la información de guías, por cada ambiente. Aunque no es grande en espacio del local, si es grande la variedad de especies en ella. Y para los que gustamos de la observación, quedamos por demás satisfechos; especialmente, por encontrarnos tan cerca a especies que de otro modo sólo podríamos hallarlos en los libros, fotos o videos. Luego, de una primera explicación de aproximadamente 40 minutos, podrá recorrer nuevamente con paciencia todos los lugares expuestos, para tomarse fotos o videos. En medio del local existen bancos y dos pequeños espacios de descanso. Asimismo, se encuentra el restaurante cómodo, fresco al encontrarse abierto al aire libre, atención cordial. Tiene servicios higiénicos, para DAMAS en el primer nivel, y VARONES, en el segundo al que se llega por escaleras (no hay ascensor). En todo el área, a nuestro parecer, existen seis ambientes cerrados y tres ambientes al aire libre (en medio del local). Recomendado, si dispone de los medios económicos, tiempo y transporte. Si va en vehículo, tiene estacionamiento al frente del local. ADICIONAL GRATUITO: Para los niños y porqué no para toda la familia, de vez en vez, pasarán llamando para realizar un paseo gratis en tren, por las calles aledañas (sólo un paseo de distracción).
