Not recommended and definitely NO ECO TOURISM. We decided for Pacifico Adventures for a whale watching tour because they label themselves as an eco tourism tour operator. When we entered the boat in the port of Mancora in the morning the fisherman were off loading their boats artverwandtere same pier. While we boarded the boat, the fisherman slaughtered sharks directly beside us. The animals were still living and the fins were cut off. No one really seemed to care or being shocked by the fact of an so called eco tourism tour starts directly beside this scenery. I asked the guys of Pacifico adventures why are they calling themselves eco toruistic. They had nothing to say other than that they explain the clients something about animals. Wow! I asked whether they are actively involved in projects protecting the sharks or anything else and they denied. This is definitely offered by all other agencies in Mancora and no need to board with Pacifico. Many others had also bigger boats. Moreover, it took me nearly 3 days to organize the tour with them. The contact with Tatjana was extreme slow and annoying. The initial contact via the contact form on their own website was completely ignored. At the actual day we took a taxi in the morning to Los Organos from Mancora as discussed with Pacifico. We did not look to operators in Mancora since we thought they offer eco tourism. Arrived in Los Organos we were told that the boat leaves from Mancora port today. So we got up 1 hour earlier than necessary and even took a taxi. No one even excused for the mistake. Tatiana just said that the pier of Los Organos was closed and they needed to change. Not a problem at all but everyone else on the tour was aware about it, just we weren’t. So just a Little „I am sorry for the mistake“ would have been enough but instead of taking responsibility they blamed external circumstances. The tour itself was ok and we saw some whales. Therefore 2 stars. There should be a bilingual guide. But we got translated at most 5% of what was said. Also they promote a visit to a museum on their website as included in the trip. This was also not on offer and no one even talked about or explained why this is not part...
Read moreWe booked a tour in English with Pacifico Adventures to watch whales in September 2024 after our hotel recommended them to us.
Our experience was very positive. The agency staffs their tours with marine biologists who really let you feel their passion for researching, documenting and sharing knowledge about the beautiful animals they showed us. We saw many whales and dolphins, sometimes very close to our boat.
After the boat tour, which lasted the full time promised, even a bit longer, we visited their museum and got a short tour by our guide. They also have a small bistro and a merch shop. The tuna sandwich was one of the best things we ate in Peru, and the merch was lovely.
In comparison to other Agencies, the guys at Pacifico don't want to sell you something. The want to share their love for their work with you, deeply respect the animals and if you want to support them, you will find ways along the way.
Overall it was a very pleasurable experience and we would recommend them to anyone who...
