This isn't just a trip to a waterfall - it's an unforgettable adventure. While the falls themselves are beautiful, the real magic is in the journey to get there. It's an experience filled with stunning scenery and thrilling moments that I'd recommend to anyone seeking a taste of adventure.
Our trip began early, and after getting our permits, we met our guides who came prepared with life vests and inner tubes. From the moment we started the trek, I was completely captivated. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, and I can't stress that enough. We moved through a variety of landscapes - from lush, green forests with sunlight filtering through the canopy to wide-open riverbeds framed by towering rock formations. Every turn revealed a new, spectacular view. The hike took less than two hours, but it felt like a tour through a living art gallery.
One of the most memorable parts was crossing the river. Our guides used the inner tubes to expertly ferry us across the stronger currents, making us feel safe and cared for. It was a unique and fun touch that added to the feeling of being on a well-planned expedition.
After a short break at the falls, the real highlight began: the water tubing. Using the same inner tubes, we floated back down the river with the current. The water was fast and thrilling, but our guides were always in control, ensuring a safe and exciting ride. They told us the current was "pretty tame" that day and is even more exhilarating after heavy rainfall - something to keep in mind for a future visit!
My one piece of advice? Go on a weekday or during the non-peak season. The guides mentioned they had over 200 tourists the day before, leading to a long queue for the tubing. Going on a less crowded day lets you soak in the scenery and enjoy the activities without a rush. This adventure was the perfect mix of peaceful hiking and thrilling river fun. It's the kind of experience that stays with you long after you've dried off, and I'm already looking forward to...

This is also the best time of the year to experience tubing the Palsuguan river (on your way back to the sitio) with the local...
